I agree with Arum, Little G has no incentive to step up when he's getting paid well to fight stumblebums.
GGG is not being ducked. Stop the B.S.

I would assume it's cos he not only wants the belt but also Canelos name and the big $s to go with it. But you know this. Personally I think they're being naive, and that yes, K2 should have had Canelo stripped had he refused the fight next and at 160, but the temptation to wait and hope the fight can be made in late 2016 is obvious.
You still trying to sell the idea that Golovkin doesn't actually want to fight Canelo?Last edited by Citizen Koba; 12-26-2015, 08:54 AM.Comment

**** if anything that says how exceptional GGG is. Who gets told to move up besides exceptional fighters? Plus Arum has extra benefit in saying this cuz he gots the best Mexican boxer at 168 & in boxing in 2015 being Mexican = more money since the core base of boxing fans seems to be heavily Mexican.
Although idk who's at 168 who's bringing all this money Arum speaks of. Abraham? DeGale? Dirrell brothers? Zurdo? Badou Jack? Hell Andre Ward isn't even at 168, but if he was does anyone think that is bringing in huge money either? Ward isn't popular really. He's just highly considered in the boxing world. Thats like fighting the Rigo of 168lbs lol. You get respect, but not money.
At 160 there is definitely a catch 22 doe. Canelo & Cotto can make as much or more money taking on less risky fights & GGG is so good he doesn't got anyone at 160 to fight besides the guys like Canelo & Cotto who have better options.Comment

So he's ultimately after a payday then. Cool. Nothing wrong with that. Let's just not pretend like he's being ducked when he's complicit.I would assume it's cos he not only wants the belt but also Canelos name and the big $s to go with it. But you know this. Yep. There is definitely a thin line people on both sides of this argument are trying to ignore cuz its not all black or white. There is more benefit in appeasing these guys & taking free money than pushing them to a decision & gaining a belt you didn't win in the ring. And there is still allure on the GBP/Canelo side that GGG, who's got 20 odd KO's in a row or w/e, can catch fire with more mainstream casual fans that could turn this into a big PPV fight that would greatly benefit both sides.I would assume it's cos he not only wants the belt but also Canelos name and the big $s to go with it. So basically anyone saying Canelo is scared to fight GGG so he's looking to kick the rock down the road until the WBC decides to really put the hammer down or that GGG is scared of any or a specific big fight & thats why he keeps taking step aside money instead of taking a risk on a guy fighting him when there is as much or more money in not fighting him right now is being simple minded or is just an idiot. Its a lil more complicated than you'd like it to be Mr. Potatohead.Comment

Not sure of your point. I never claimed Golovkin (or any other fighter for that matter) wasn't seeking the paydays, nor do I criticise fighters for it. At the end of the day if the risk / reward ratio is right the fight will be made. As for Golovkin being ducked, let's just say he seems to be considered 'high risk' by potential opponents - that is to say I'm sure anyone would fight him, but the potential rewards better be pretty compelling.Comment

You questioned the reason people offer step-aside fees, and I responded. I questioned the reason he's accepting them if his priority is the belt. I think we've arrived at the conclusion that the belt isn't the priority. That's all she wrote. Not sure of your point. it's not just a payday though, it's the fight that the largest number of fans want to see, therefore also the best fight for his profile and legacy
you people sure do love to simplify ****Comment
