  • Bayless definitely hindered Benavidez but I still think he had ample time to stop Plant but couldn't....

  • Wow. I was called a hater for simply saying Plant will be competitive in a losing effort before the fight. Benavidez wins a competitive decision where he looked like an ordinary plodder and his fan boys are losing their ****. The result is a very far cry from the "Benavidez will KO Plant easily"...

  • It was more the Benavidez hype boys telling everyone how easy the fight will be and how David will end it earlier than Canelo but it ended up being a competitive decision win for Benavidez who looked pretty ordinary. A plodder who will likely get schooled by Bivol if he ever moves up to the division...

I definitely see Benavidez coming on in the second half of the fight but I don't think he can stop Canelo, Canelo has the defensive capabilities to make Benavidez miss a lot and be wasteful with his offense (as he was in spots against Plant). Benavidez had Plant hurt for 5 rounds and couldn't finish...

  • I wouldn't say "he's better because he stopped him" but Canelo is seemingly a more powerful puncher and better finisher in the fact that he was able to stop plant in less amount of punches landed and was also able to finish the job once he had him hurt whereas Benavidez had Plant hurt for...

  • Last night proved that Benavidez has a better engine, throws more punches and is a bigger, longer perhaps physically stronger guy whereas Canelo is the more skilled, more powerful, more accurate/clean puncher and is better at stopping his opponents when he hurts them. David had Plant hurt from the 8th...

  • What so the stats "prove" that Benavidez hits harder? Quite the opposite actually. Also, Benavidez had Plant hurt from the 8th and still couldn't get him out of there whereas Canelo finished the job immediately after hurting him, you know the **** the stats can't identify. I actually watch...

  • Like I said, that's how it seemed but I'll need to watch the Canelo fight again. Canelo still landed the cleaner punches and seemed the more powerful of the two unless you want to ignore the stats and make up that Benavidez hits harder when he couldn't even drop Plant with "more punches landed"....

  • I actually find that quite surprising in that Canelo seemed to land more cleanly and frequently against Plant. He seemed more economical than Benavidez, a lot less wastefull. I bet a lot of those "punches landed" for Benavidez were partially blocked/grazing shots whereas most of Canelo's seemed...
