I'm not buying it. He has a lazy punching style, reminiscent of a Mid 1970's Ali, minus the footwork. He won't be able to touch Fury.

If you wanna Touch fury and you are that much shorter, you need the kind of explosive, athletic and powerful punching style that David Haye has. Not lazy punching as if he were the second coming of a ballooned up James Toney.

I mean, it looked pretty IF you are nostalgic and he reminds of certain fighters from the past. But he will lose pretty soon.

I had to read that 3 times because I could have sworn you were talking about Fury. Really odd that someone would call Ortiz a lazy puncher when the proposed opponent is Tyson Fury. Maybe you're confusing the lax punches he does as he's looking to set up other shots. I see him doing that a lot. Soft jab to get a guy to shift his guard, then drill in a stiff cross or hook. That's not slop, that's the sign of a master.
On the other hand, Fury historically has a habit of not returning his hands to guard and leaning back as defense. That's more of a lazy punching style and very unsafe against an intelligent fighter with the movement Ortiz has.

NO, I mean he punches lazy. It's the same style of an Ali once his legs were shot. It's almost like slap-shots but not quite. You can really see this when he throws hooks and wings his shots.

Oh Max! Is that you again? Did you get out of your pen again, and are you playing around on the computer again?!

            strongly disagree

Ortiz didn't look that great to me against jennings, barring the ko when jennings leaned into ortiz and gave away the uppercut like an absoloute twonk.

Ortiz movement was laughable, he is slow, doesn't have the energy, workrate, switch hitting ability, movement etc that fury has.

Kellerman has come out with a ton of crap over the years, and NSB always falls in love with punchers, but I wouldn't favour ortiz over fury, i think povetkin is the only real threat, or wladamir if he puts in one last great performance.

outside of that we are waiting for joseph parker or anthony joshua in 18 months time for a real test for fury

Max Kellerman is a renowned nut bag.

He makes very many ridiculous statements about boxing, unlike his predecessor, the great Larry Merchant, an absolute expert on boxing shunning all nut baggery.

However to be fair, Max the little jerk has it right this time.

              Ortiz KO Fury

Kellerman bigging up a HBO fighter, what a surprise. The guy needs to lay off the ching, he comes out with some silly stuff. I remember after the Klitschko-Jennings fight, he was demanding a rematch despite Jennings barely winning a round let alone the fight. He doesn't seem to realise that Janitor Jennings is a very basic fighter with limited skills and limited power.

are you ****ing serious? In his last 2 or 3 fights, Tyson has exhibited exactly this, using his height and reach to keep opponents from getting too close. Jeez, the kids today.

He has this calm confidence in the ring that comes from having mastered the game a long time ago. Tyson get's KO'd in this fight. I'd love for Tyson to take this fight but he won't go near Ortiz for some time.
and so the hype train begins, I bet you musta jumped off the derailed trains of Broner, Matthysse and Lara too? Heck, some people still on that Lara train lol
