Wobbling an atg champion badly contradicts the idea that he can actually punch?? okay Sherlock. Guess Lennox couldn't punch either, or foreman seeing as he didn't level Ali with flush shots.
yeah because Ali's chin is definitely on par with wlad's
I was joking around. That quote was hilarious, but it sounded like something Teddy Atlas would say. He makes food or other weird references when he talks boxing.
I would favor ortiz, especially if he got inside and let combos go with those fast hands.. But I don't think it would be a cakewalk like everyone thinks.. Ortiz will have a huge problem getting inside of fury's jab.. Much like how wilder was able to keep Stiverne at a distance, and wlad did to everyone, I think fury has the tools to keep ortiz on the outside, and of ortiz tires in the 2nd half, he is going to have trouble pinning fury.. Ortiz is a big guy and has very good skills, but he isn't a good mover and struggles to be quick footed
Fury's too tall and knows how to fight tall. He also knows when to clinch and is very comfortable with clinching. I'm a huge Ortiz fan and if they fight I will be rooting for him but Fury will beat him for the reasons mentioned.
Ortiz is more skilled and has the better technique.
Fury whilst he has improved leaps and bounds is not this brilliantly skilled boxer some try claim he is, he's a HW Miguel Vasquez really.
Tall, rangy, awkward guy who has learned to use it to his advantage and stay out of harms way.
He learned a lot from when Cunningham dropped him and it made him a much more effective fighter but it doesn't make for great viewing.
All of his fights since have been unbearable.
Boxing logic says Ortiz wins, but Boxing logic went out the window when Fury a guy who boxes like he does it on the weekends to get in shape bluffed his way to beating Wlad without doing a fking thing.
Maybe he has some gypsy hypnotizing magic we all just don't get never discount a guy you don't understand. Or the more simple answer is maybe Klit was just done and Fury showed at the right time, and then if that's the case Ortiz would blast him out.
I been saying Fury is underrated for a long time. I wasn't sure if he would win a world title back in the day but I started to really appreciate his skill during the Martin Rogan fight. He could have crushed him in the orthodox stance but instead he fought the entire match in the southpaw stance. Who saw that coming? Nobody & that's what makes him so hard to prepare for. Against Wlad he didn't light it up but he moved around pretty good, used head movement, he was rubbing his own face & he was so awkward Klitschko couldn't let his hands go. Fury is also a big man with a long reach. He looks so vulnerable but he has yet to be beat. I think Ortiz has a good skillset but age is not on his side & other than Jennings & Thompson he hasn't fought anybody. Fury, Parker, Wilder & Joshua are all young while the other top contenders are 35+... I'd pick Fury to win if he fought Ortiz but I doubt we see that fight. Fury don't care about titles. He is in it for the money. He would probably vacate the WBA title if he wins the rematch. He would look for bigger money fights.
