So much so that now what they're doing is waiting for a big match up to come to them instead of creating one themselves. A Sides don't wait for nobody, they can go fight anybody and generate big Money no matter who they fight, those are the REAL A Sides.
He can make great Paydays with Lara, Ward and Lee if he beats Billy Joe Saunders. So either you want to truly be considered one of the best or you want to fight weak opponents and let HBO try to convince everybody that you're the best...PICK ONE!
I don't know that it's as simple as that. There has to be some motivating factors to take a tough fight. Most of the time when you hear a fighter say that he's willing to take on a tough fight, he expresses that he sees weaknesses or mistakes in the proposed opponent. There's also the money factor, which plays a strong role. Another is the danger factor. Finally, there's the career impact factor. Take Floyd for instance; no one feared him, because he's not known to be a devastating puncher. Later in his career, he grabbed, ran, held & pot-shotted his way to victories. Opponents likely saw that as a weakness they could exploit, until they got in the ring with him. Of course, being the highest grossing athlete on the planet means fighting him should mean a big payday, so everybody wanted to line up to fight him. A loss to Floyd wouldn't hurt most people's careers, because he's regarded as the best P4P on the planet.

Now look at Golovkin; the guy's a devastating puncher, with one of the highest KO ratios in the sport. Chances are if you get into the ring with him, you'll get KTFO. He may have weaknesses as he can be hit, but he's yet to be really hurt, & he keeps coming. He's still trying to advance his career to stardom but he's not there yet. As a result he's not getting paid mega bucks for fights, & his opponents will make even less. Anyone who's willing to fight him hopes they can beat him and advance their careers. A win against him probably would, because he's destroying everybody. However, getting Ko'd by someone who's dangerous, but not meg-star status can devastate a career. This is especially true since most of GGG's opponents are poorly regarded from the start.

You're saying A sides don't wait for anybody. That's not entirely true. They surely don't chase down fights; fights come to them for the reasons I listed above. The problem is in Golovkin's case, the risk is too high & reward too low for most to face him, so they pass (big names included). While it's true that he may have to step above his weight class to get a big fight, it's a shame that he has to put himself at a decided disadvantage because he's feared.

You said he fought defensively when he started fighting guys his own size which is wrong. Because he was very offensive minded against the bigger Corrales.

The rest of your post I didn't address because I disagree. At 147, he is at best lower half of the top 10 of all time. He is arguably the greatest Junior Lightweight of all time. By focusing on WW you're ignoring his best division.

He most certainly does. Loves the sound of his voice.

I'm not in any way trying to diminish him or what he accomplished. I just don't recall him fighting a different style. In fairness, I missed most of his early career.
He was masterful as a pressure fighter and a backfoot boxer. He switched between both with ease.

          • floyd's not a welterweight according to some of his fans... for some reason...

we know what the reason is. it gives floyd further credit, particularly in the context of the pacquiao fight and common pacquiao opponents. later it was used to keep the heat down about a fight with golovkin. that is how the floyd mayweather and manny pacquiao fan thought for 6 years. now the rhetoric has moved to other fighters.

floyd's a small welterweight, yet needed an IV in the lead up to a fight with pacquiao at 147 lbs? small welterweight, yet he misses weight against marquez when he was in a well documented situation with the IRS? floyd wasn't even rich back then. he was in debt. a guy called money mayweather misses weight and loses money because he can't make the catchweight.

floyd mayweather is not a small welterweight. he's not a huge welterweight, like hearns, but he's certainly not small. many of his best opponents were smaller men moving up. his biggest opponent, canelo alvarez, isn't gigantic, and doesn't fight like a big man.

Duran can only fight one way.

I just think its clear that Roger had Floyd fighting much differently than FLoyd SR. did.

stop it dude. this just needs to stop . you have not watched roberto duran, and you need to stop talking about him.

one of two things is happening. i'm giving you the benefit of the doubt in saying that i don't think you've seen duran.

if you've seen duran, and you're going to call him one dimensional in an effort to make floyd mayweather look better, i'll sh#t myself.

Haha yep, the ones who say 'I haven't got anything against Golovkin, but..[insert Golovkin rant here]..''.
Fair enough if it wasn't from obvious haters, but most of the time it is. It's from the guys who make several Golovkin threads a day, as well as multiple posts on him per day. Always of a negative nature ,then act as if it's not transparent.
''It's because they hate his fans doe.''

To post so obsessively about one fighter means they're fanboys, or haters. It's obvious which camp these posters are in. It's always the same guys.

                Golovkin ruffles feathers on here.

If Canelo doesn't fight him, he'll have to move onto someone else. If Lee loses, Saunders said he wont fight Golovkin for 18 months. Again, he'll have to move on.

Those things are completely out of his control. It has nothing to do with him, his fans or his team. Is your problem with how pathetic and business-y (not a word) boxing is? Because outside of trying to make a name for himself and fighting everyone who offers a reward (belt or monetary), I'm not sure what else Golovkin is supposed to be doing.
That is Easy! Fight Lara and try to destroy him and beat him more impressively than Canelo did (although many though Lara beat Canelo but that is another story). Fight who WANTS TO FIGHT YOU! When you come off as desperate in boxing you end up like Amir Khan, wasting valuable time waiting for someone to pick you for a big fight when you could have been creating your own legacy fighting whoever wants to fight you

Canelo won't fight GGG until May 2017 IMO in which GGG will be 35 years old while Canelo will only be 26-27 years old just entering his PRIME. The Longer they stall this fight the more it favors Canelo.
