It almost seems like a set up for both Cotto and Canelo to bow out gracefully from being WBC Middleweight champ.

It's almost like they srcipted this **** themselves.

We all know how the king of the middleweights is.

This is a separate issue from whether the winner fights GGG or not. Cotto has been stripped for refusing to pay the WBC's sanctioning fee, not for refusing to fight Golovkin if he wins.
make no mistake, this fight is happening with or without a title and believe me, GGG has nothing to do with the ratings or the money generated on this fight...

Cotto wanted the belt at stake

I remember Canelo saying that Cotto wanted them to fight for the belt.

It's usually the promoters of the champion and challenger who pay the step aside money in situations like this, not the sanctioning organisation.

It was the higher than expected sanctioning fee that Cotto was complaining about, not the step aside money.

It's inconcievable that a fight like this could take place without any contracts being signed!

i dont think GGG is going to get anything if he hasnt been paid yet...

Cotto knew what the sanction fee was going to be all along. This is all smoke and mirrors . He never had any real intentions of challenging GGG in the first place. From the looks of me he is already resigned to losing to Canelo on Saturday.

a bit of a correction, he step aside to allow the belt at stake, the event was going to take place with or without GGGs aproval..

The belt should never of been on the line and it never needed to be if cotto just been a man and said I'm not fighting GGG so I vacate. Instead he let this circus go on for over a year pretending like he was going to defend the title. Kept the belt hostage made himself look like a b1tch so I got no sympathy for him. Canelo on record saying he don't care about the belt and wanted to fight him regardless.

War Cotto - f%%k these crooks...tired of having four orgs naming champs in each division. Tired of each org having multiple champs in a division. Soon, we'll have 16 champs per division, not too mention trophy titles like "diamond" crap.

In 2015 - it means more to be a UFC champion than it does to be a boxing champ; ask Holly Holm. Its a sad state of affairs. This "unified" champion has gone awry.

I truly truly truly hope PBC is successful - not because of Haymon, because in theory, they'll soon create their own title - rendering all the 4 horsemen orgs trying to be relevant amongst a small group of fighters not in PBC, thus eventually causing them to fade away.
