This is correct. And it will be pleasant to watch.

You can't really even call Cotto a man the best thing that can happen is that this weekend Canelo knocks him unconscious and puts him into hospital that would be karma at its best.
i dont even know if cotto signed on anything, he agreed to pay GGG $800, and he also agreed to pay the wbc $150, but seems like wbc wanted more than that and then cotto didnt paid a dime to either, if there is a contract then maybe GGG can get some, but then again wbc voids everything by not allowing cotto to defend the title... if there is a contract then is complicated, if not, then cotto walks away home richer...

Like I said, think about it for a second. If there was a contract they would NOT HAVE SAID ANYTHING. They would have fulfilled their end (sanctioning the fight and their champ) then they could sue Cotto for breaching his part of the contract...But...there is no contract.

Why should GGG get anything? He's not stepping aside anymore. Canelo is fighting for what is essentially a vacant title and will have a mandatory immediately after. Unless GBP paid him.

Oscar and Canelo are paying the WBC their sanctioning fee. The other 800 thousand was specifically for Cotto to pay his mandatory, GGG, as a step aside.

How is the belt at stake for Canelo? Hes not the mandatory..... I'll tell you why, its because hes paying a fee to the WBC, so they will gladly take his money, offer the belt up for him, if he wins, great, because he brings in more money than GGG.

                  The whole thing is BS.
im a big canelo fan, but i completely agree with you...

GGG should have been paid months ago. He stepped aside to let the event take place.

Because GGG is too big of a risk of a KO loss. point blank. Cotto should have dropped the belt because he had no intentions of ever fighting him.
Exactly. Stop the excuses it's not about GGG not being a big enough name GGG right now is bigger name then geale and even Martinez. Yet he fought those guys because Martinez let him fight a gimpy fighter to win a phony belt(he ducked Martinez for years when he was healthy and only agreed when he had knee problems and damaged goods) and geale was a non threat. It's been about him being afraid of GGG from day one and now it's to the point where he knows he won't fight him next or ever so why pay the fee. Coward move and proves what everyone been saying about him for a year now. That he's not a real middleweight and that he is ducking GGG. If he just manned up and vacated a long time ago he avoids all this embarrassment. Instead he kept the belt hostage until he got stripped.
