Why do people want to see Golovkin face a fighter 2 weight classes above? (Ward)

You will never see a great fighter like Ward give up size advantage, and if he does, it will be by weight draining his opponent.
Ward actually moved up from 160 to 168 early on in his career, so he definitely knows a thing or two about giving up a size advantage.

My question is why are so many people against this fight? That's what doesn't make sense

People insisting that GGG move up to SMW are idiots. What is Golovkin supposed to do? Take HGH to make him start growing again? The guy is a NATURAL MIDDLEWEIGHT and he should be allowed to fight his entire career as a MW if that is what he wants to do.
My bad I still keep thinking Kid Chocolate has the WBO still, forgot that he vacated and Andy Lee owns that Belt now. But Andy Lee is with Haymon, since Lou Dibella aligned himself with Haymon, so that fight is probably highly unlikely since Dibella is loyal now to Haymon and PBC/Showtime.

There are 4 major titles WBA, WBC, WBO, and IBF to be considered the undisputed champion I hope we can see this history made in the middleweight division.

Ward-Golovkin is THE best fight in Boxing. Bar none.

And I'm not a fan of either.

Why are Golovkin fans reluctant to see it?

            ward should fight klitschko instead.
No, Ward should be the one to concede things to Golovkin, the current and future star of the sport. Ward should be the one to change divisions and drop to fight GGG at MW. Golovkin had more fights this year than Ward has in the past three. Golovkin is a multiple belt holder who has defended his title against all comers, Ward has not defended his WBA SMW title in four years. Ward does not have one thing going for him that justifies Golovkin making even the smallest of concessions to fight him.

Ward doesn't want to make concessions? Then he can challenge the other title holders, who actually defend their titles, at SMW instead. Or if he can no longer make 168, he can move up to LHW and fight some contenders there while working his way to deserving a title shot against Stevenson or Kovalev.

But that absolutely LAST THING that Ward can expect would be for the Middleweight champion of the world WHO HAS NO PROBLEM MAKING WEIGHT AT MW, to concede a damn thing to fight him.

Lee is not contracted to Haymon and there is nothing keeping him from fighting Golovkin. In fact, if he wins his mandatory against Saunders, I see no reason for him not to step up and fight GGG. It would be the biggest payday he will ever see and a chance to unify three titles. Only a fool would pass that up, or a coward.

                You are trolling, right?

                1) Yes it is a big money fight

                2) Why do you assume he won't fight Kovalev? if anyone would take the chance to accuse Ward of ducking Kovalev it would be Duva and she has never said that. It's actually the opposite.

                3) the '2 weight classes above' thing is extremely misleading and manipulative which is exactly what you want to do. You know full well Ward said he wanted Golovkin before moving to 175 but now it won't happen so he's moving up.

Because it is meaningless at this time. Golovkin has more meaningful fights in his sights, fights that advance his goal of unification. Once that is all taken care of, then maybe a Ward fight will be in the cards. If Ward has not retired or become permanently attached to that bench he is sitting on while he watches the boxing world pass him by.

You sure about that? Lee is with Lou Dibella who already shown loyalty to Haymon, Haymon could be in DiBella's ear, probably telling Lou to let Lee unify with the winner of Jacobs vs Chocolate.

I like your optimism but I don't see that fight happening. Lee is a very dangerous fight though, he is 6 foot 3 and has power from the southpaw stance and very awkward.

Only problem is Haymon wont make a GGG unifier with the winner of Jacobs vs Quilin, Haymon is hard to work with unless you make him an adviser of your fighter, he wont work with you.

you dont have to move up in weight to be considered great. Only reason to move up is that you can't make the weight anymore and outgrown the division, like Ward the guy cant make 168 anymore he had a catchweight of 173 his last fight and is moving to 175, fighting GGG is not possible and is the same thing as when ward called Floyd out to fight him at 160 pounds.
it would be nice for golovkin to fight the jacobs quillin winner, but for him unifying the titles he does not need to.

Jacobs only holds the regular title, and correct me if im wrong, but the regular title is not considered a full title as long as someone other holds the super wba title.

Golovkin has the WBA Super and the IBF Title. He would be undisputed champion if he wins against the Cotto/Canelo winner (WBC) and the Lee/Saunders Winner (WBO).
