You can say the whole 164 catchweight crap with Froch/Chavez but they were big money fights, Ward isn't. Also Ward offered to come down to 160 for Mayweather, why not for GGG? Ward says he can beat Klitschko but won't fight the king of his weightclass (Kovalev)
Why do people want to see Golovkin face a fighter 2 weight classes above? (Ward)

Same reason they want Mayweather to fight GGG.. They hope he loses... He's a superstar, with that comes all the haters.... -
ward's people have been in talks with kovalev's people for a long time now. it's well documented. kovalev's people are trying to keep his schedule full until a late 2016 fight on ppv at 175 lbs with ward.
people want to see the best MW in the world fight he best SMW in the world. they want to see the best SMW in the world fight the best LHW in the world.
it's boxing.Comment

I want GGG to clean out the division, Hagler never moved up in weight, I rather see GGG do a Hopkins and Hagler and Monzon, clean out the division and make repeated unified title defenses.
Only problem is Haymon wont make a GGG unifier with the winner of Jacobs vs Quilin, Haymon is hard to work with unless you make him an adviser of your fighter, he wont work with you.
you dont have to move up in weight to be considered great. Only reason to move up is that you can't make the weight anymore and outgrown the division, like Ward the guy cant make 168 anymore he had a catchweight of 173 his last fight and is moving to 175, fighting GGG is not possible and is the same thing as when ward called Floyd out to fight him at 160 pounds.Comment

SMW was really not a thing at that time. the jump from 160 to 175 was one that very few fighters could sustain.
additionally, hagler's best compeitionm [money] was from smaller fighters moving up. duran, hearns, and eventually a megafight with ray leonard, which made him a very rich man.
guys box for money. i know that you ugys don't understand that, but the sooner you try and understand it, the sooner you'll start to see this sport making more sense.Comment

You guys need to let it go. Little g won't have to worry the fights not happening. Funny how he says he won't move up til he has the belts, but was ready to put on the pounds for froch and jccComment

also, none of you have any verifying proof or support of the idea that ward cannot make 168 any longer. hew as coming off of a long layoff. fighters have done what he's been doing for a long time, and making the drop back down in weight slowly.
it's clear that ward's people want the golovkin fight. it's also quite clear that they are willing to fight sergey kovalev, if you ask ward's people, ward himself, or main events.Comment

I want to see Golovkin move up because clearly he's too good for the division he's in.
Futhermore being an Olympic medalist, and has beaten Dirrell & Bute in the amateurs.
Clearly this is the sign of someone that should be fighting at 168.Comment
