The reason why people are being critical is because they thought Duhaupas was a bum. They didn't know that he was 31-2 and has never been knocked out.
Seems like they expected Wilder to KO him withing like 3 rounds which was just foolish if you knew his history.
As far as Wilders performance being impressive or not, i can honestly say that it was BOTH, if that makes sense. LOL.
I liked some of the adjustments he made in the fight but man, his defense to me looked awful.Comment

Why should he not of been able to last? look at the punches he took! I have followed Duhaupas the last few years. He was moved slowly coming up & fought all over Europe. He has fights with Pianeta, Teper, Charr & Wilder now on his resume. Solid pro in the Francois Botha mold. A tough guy with a marginal skillset but it doesn't mean he's a dud. His recent win over Charr moved in the top 15 in WBC & his close fight with Teper didn't go unnoticed by promoters around the world.Comment

That was fun but I'm still not sure what to make of Deontay. He looks more natural and co-ordinated each fight (and this was a big problem of his just a few fights ago) but he looked quite bad in spots too, including looking seriously gassed in the last couple of rounds.Comment

Too bad the Frenchman can't punch for **** !! Has one hell of a chin though. Wilder showed a good inside game with those uppercuts but, all that dancing makes me wish he'd get humbled soon.Comment

Not to increase hype, just get more rounds and experience under his belt. Sort of like Wilder did with Jason Gavern before the Stiverne fight.
O'Connor is a white guy from the Northeast. Average fighter.Comment
