Well people who think he showed a lot of improvement are ******...how does that sound? Kind of like your observation.

There are many things one can make of this fight. One is that Wilder is not prepared in any way to fight at the top. Its a valid point. If he did improve he did it against a guy who really showed great courage and determination but was not much of a threat.

Povetkin has to cover a lot of distance through incoming fire to do work. That is still a huge problem for him. Wlad being almost the same size doesn't have the same issues but that fight still is probably a year off, and time is on Wilder's side.
Yes, completely agree. Wilder has added some depth to his offense. His uppercuts look good, his body punching was effective and he showed he can fight on the inside. He dominated every round against a very tough and determined opponent. He fought at a steady pace and turned it up when necessary.

It is about improving as a fighter and being the best you can be.

That would be the proper context.
The guy had like 30 amateur fights. He's still on a learning curve. If you didn't see improvement tonight you haven't been following his career.

Tough ass Frenchman. Wilder puts a lot of power in those punches, you can tell when he lands them, they sound like a bat hitting a heavy bag. Both Stiverne and this guy are tough as hell but still, Wilder got hit with too many times.

Vlad would catch Wilder all night. This guy could not punch..he was game and had decent skills at cutting the ring off until he started following Wilder around, but he never threw enough punches to threaten a tired and on the ropes opponent.
