Ward might beat GGG, because he is naturally much bigger. But personally, I would pick GGG to win.

Look at his amateur record. It's almost at Rigo, Loma's level. GGG has a lot of skill and is a very intelligent fighter. But many people don't see it. All they see is his power.

Same with Kovalev. A very intelligent, skillful boxer, who also happens to have bone-crushing power.

Ward can't break an egg, which is why he needs all those spoiling, holding, head-butting tricks he uses.

Trust me, Kovalev would either KO him or have him running for his life the whole fight, like BHop.

It's a waste of time talking about Ward/Kovalev though.

Roc and and Duva can talk about it all they like. But Ward won't fight Kovalev. It's not in his nature to take a challenge like that.

he's the best based on what though? because he was good 4 years ago? lots of things happen in 4 years. there have been 4 different super bowls since then. a lot has changed. the present trumps the past when doing rankings. nostalgia alert!

he had a layoff because of ducking and being selfish. don't get it twisted. it was 100 percent his fault. he was offered great money fights with top guys(bute, stevenson, froch 2) and he refused. while he was doing this he tried to fight truax, sartison, periban, and pavlik. Hbo turned down those bums cept pavlik but that fight was cancelled. its pretty clear he didn't want to fight anyone good. he got his 2 million guarantee then tried to fight easy fighters over and over to collect that money but hbo didn't let him thankfully. now he has that same guarantee and look who he's fighting(paul smith and zac dunn)

over the last 4 years they are much more accomplished. how far back do you want to go? 4 years is a damn long time. we don't rank people based on total accomplishments otherwise guys like toney and roy would still be on the list. they haven't proven themselves in years and either has ward. why does ward get special points just because he hasn't taken any risks?

His accomplishments are recent enough that they feel that he's better than guys that have been active all the time he's been away. If you don't like it, you don't have to take their word for it. In any case, it's pretty damned clear that Ward is one of the best fighters on the planet without a doubt. I know he's placed higher than guys you like, but the guys you like don't have a resume as good as Ward's, despite having 3 years to catch him. Pound for pound means nothing anyway. Don't let it bother you so much.

Yes, he's in talks. He just had a fight a few months ago, and has been trying to get a deal signed with GGG. Now his team is talking with Kovalev's team. Give it time.

Yes, technically sound. Regardless of what you think of his style, he's dismantled every top fighter he's been in the ring with, and he's been in with a few, unlike the guys below him on the P4P list. He doesn't get hit much, is super accurate, and doesn't rely on brute force to win fights. Unless he's lost a major step, he's arguably a better boxer than everyone else on the P4P list. Sorry if that hurts.

EDIT: Ward was gone for roughly 18 months, not 3 years. He fought Edwin Rodriguez (a top 10 SMW) in November of 2013, and returned June 2015. Floyd Mayweather was gone for roughly the same amount of time (after declaring retirement), and re-entered many rankings at #1 or #2. Ability obviously plays a factor in placement on the list.

They arent fighting Ward. Even if Ward came down to 160 and accepted 30% of the purse, they still wouldnt fight him. They know it, everyone knows else knows it too, they should have never mentioned Ward in the first place.

Honest fans can just admit that GGG wont fight Ward when the risk/reward ratio is so lopsided in the other fights available to GGG.

GGG will take the easier fights first. Period. He has a lottery ticket waiting for him in the form of 2 high profile JMW. Getting beat up by Ward is the only thing that can stop him from cashing in.

GGG is vastly overrated and Little g loses to Ward at 168lbs. GGG has a fake record of bums with no significant wins over a top contender.
