What are you talking about. I'm just correctly the silly things people say, like Khan is bigger tha GGG, or that Ward even remotely deserves the GGG fight.

Both Bleacher Report and ESPN have deemed GGG the next big thing.

Ring Mag did a survey that had GGG overwhelmingly got fan support for P4P after Floyd is gone. Like 53%

I'm not sure why you guys think Ward concerns us, Ward is a bigger, he needs GGG, not the other way around.

Mfer you ain't getting no no PPV money for fighting a Rent A Center assistant manager on the Canelo vs Cotto undercard.
Chief support for Cotto-Alvarez is definitely a massive opportunity, but Ward isn't going to take that fight for free, though.

Let RocNation and James Prince(Ward's manager) hammer out the deal to make the fight; Danny Garcia vs Lucas Matthysse was a pretty big fight (could've been the main event on it's own bill) and it ended up costing Floyd Mayweather $2.5m to add that fight to his bill.

Ward's actual fight may not end up being that anticipated, but having Andre Ward as the chief support is a pretty big deal (and likely worth $2m for the fight). Will simply come down to how they end up financing adding Ward to the bill.

If Ward's compensation is tied to a piece of the PPV ($1m purse, plus 2% of the net proceeds on the PPV), you have Cotto/Canelo going on their press tour and you have Andre Ward marketing the fight wherever needed (Ward does well on urban radio, Ward does great on ESPN, Ward would likely be welcomed back onto The View, and Ward could basically be left to handle all the other English-language press obligations - which neither Cotto or Alvarez are all that well set to do, if we're honest).

Ward brings 100k PPV buys from folks not all that interested in Cotto, Alvarez, or the Puerto Rico/Mexico rivalry, and he covers the costs of his participation in the show (suburban moms watching a nice, wholesome, well-spoken, Olympian boxer on The View, black/white listeners in NY/LA/SFBayArea, who like Ward but don't really know or care about Cotto/Alvarez/Mexico vs Puerto Rico, casual sports fans on ESPN who have heard the Ward name, etc)

GGG is begging to fight Canelo and Cotto but they don't seem to be interested in fighting him and to be honest, both Canelo and Cotto don't need him as they can make a killing off of fighting guys in the 147 to 154 range.
He's not begging, Ward is begging.

GGG is the mandatory for the belt Cotto and Canelo are fighting for.

Can you really not see the difference.

And unless Ward does something to make it look as if fighting him is worth it, he has little shot unless GGG wants to give it to him.

It's almost universal is a few wins away from superstardom (like ur or not, check ESPN, B/R, Ring, etc)

Ward is a few months away from being forgotten completely. Check BET.

I don't get that at all. Ward could sell out his last fight. He isn't that much of an asset for Cotto/Canelo. He actually may hurt it, with his boring style. Goldenboy slammed Floyd for boring fights, but are supposed to pay Ward for his boring tuneup.

          I'd pass!

I agree. I acted immature there as well tbh. There's no point in arguing with people like that. Internet or Real life. This probably makes him sleep better at night for all I know. He might have a tough life and this is how he feels better lol, I don't freaking know. I didn't react well though, sometimes we have to control ourselves as well. Learning experience for sure though.
There's no point going at it with crazy people! Hahaha.

Those two points, were their entire marketing strategy for 3-4 years.

Neither of those points are true.

I agree with you, Golovkin is a very good fighter.

He just aint this avoided killer who will fight anyone, thats all.

Also, I firmly believe that every member of Team Golovkin knows exactly what Ward brings to the ring, they know exactly whats up.

They have been talking shht, and now they have been called out for it.

Talking shht is fine, its almost expected nowadays..... talk-the-talk is fine, but sooner or later you gotta be prepared to walk-the-walk.
I never agreed with that marketing strategy either, I knew it was going to bite them in butt. I didn't think GGG would reach this level of popularity though, so I thought the hate wasn't going to reach this level.
I think they started using that marketing strategy, because in the beginning of his career he was being ducked by other Middleweights, such as Felix Sturm.
But at the end of the day it was just that, marketing. They had to market him somehow and they probably figured that was the best way.

Having said that, Ward said he'll fight at Heavyweight by the age of 32. That rarely gets used against him. It works both ways, everybody says dumb things they don't completely mean at least a few times in their lives. Both also said that years ago, I'm not even sure if it was GGG himself or his team that said that, but when your team speaks, they speak for you as well.
I actually don't recall GGG, himself, talking so much crap about Ward. I know Abel talks and talks and talks, but GGG stays quiet. That's why I'm not a big fan of Abel, he's the one talking **** and GGG is the one that has to pay for it.

A "dangerous unification match" where he's a 16:1 favorite(saw a site that had the odds as high as 20:1)? gtfoh

              • I'm pro Ward (being from Oakland and all), but he's beating a dead horse. GGG does not want to fight him for whatever reason, so it's time to move on and maybe face him in the future.

There's good money for Ward to make on the guys in his division, or if he chooses to move up. GGG isn't a superstar, so I'd rather him stop looking desperate chasing an unproven guy.

Take this video however you want to. Some say it's an outright duck. Others say GGG just botched his English. What it means for sure is that he doesn't want Ward, and he said it over a year ago.

Even most GGG fans would want to see GGG in a tough fight with a skilled fighter, but Ward has to be active again and get some exposure and make some fans, but all he does is talk and talk and talk. When does he actually fight a decent fighter at 168 and prove he is a draw?

Right now no one cares about Ward, no one watches him while GGG is headlining his first PPV and will then hopefully fight the Canelo/Cotto winner, maybe Andy Lee and unify all the Middleweight titles. That is what every fighter dreams about and what most of his fans want to witness.

If Ward gets his stuff together and does more fighting than talking then we might see a fight between those two late next year.
Ward getting back active again, especially after he's strung together 2-3 fight camps, wrecks Golovkin well within the distance, lol.

Let's ALL remember that ggg fame is ONLY predicated on his bold Ward proclamation . Had he not lied and said he was ready for ANYONE up to 168 I don't think anyone would really care about this guy . The bold talk of fighting Ward is what gave this guy his luster , not ANY can on his resume ! So when u suggest that he's now bigger than Ward because he used Wards name to promote himself under false pretenses of fighting him , it's not only appalling , it's outright grotesque . What's worse is seeing so many fans like yourself consign this bait and switching maggot
