I'd like to see that as well. I'd prefer it to Monroe Jr. Sanchez asking "what has Lara done" and justifying fighting the winner of the Boxcino doesn't make any sense. That said, Lara is so inactive and he could be testing out 160 waters fighting a lesser MW. But he won't do that - he wants a (relatively) big money fight with GGG.

stop with the false equivalencies please. cotto and ggg are both champs in the same division. ward and ggg are not. ggg is cotto's mandatory therefore they have to fight at the full limit. if ggg and ward were in the same division you would have a point but since they are not you have no point. if ward was ggg's mandatory and ggg tried to fight him at 164 then you would have a point but since that is not happening you have no point.

Let's pretend to be real fight fans for a minute. You know, fight fans that don't need corrupt belt organizations telling them who's the best. I mean, Kovalev is fighting some clown tonight that's a 45-1 underdog, that some belt organization says is the #1 contender. That lets up know how big a joke these belts are. But let's pretend to be real fight fans for a minute. Corrupt, meaningless belts and fanboy nuthuggery aside. GGG hit the scene as a monster willing to fight anyone from 54-68. His actions have shown that the only fighter he's willing to come down to 154 for is a natural welterweight, who's damn near 40yrs old. There's no big names in his home middleweight division, so he expressed a willingness to go to 168. But, when the best fighter at 168 came calling, he demands a catchweight. But, he didn't demand a catchweight for lesser fighters in the division. Then, because of some unusual circumstances, a natural jr middleweight us the middleweight champion. He's got a big event with another natural jr middleweight. But, to add some ****e to the event, they're gonna fight at 155 so it can be for the "middleweight title." GGG wants the winner, who's naturally smaller. But, he's not willing to meet at a catchweight against a smaller guy, where he justt requested one a couple days ago against a bigger one. That's hypocrisy at its finedt my friend.

It is quite convenient to put everything related to ABC organisations outside the brackets because at the moment it does not suit your agenda. But relying on ABCs is the best way for Golovkin. He is from obscure country and did not have nationalistic or ethnic-driven fanbase. He can succeed only basing on merit. ABCs provide at least some semblance of the fair game, where the talented fighter can rise in the rankings and earn a mandatory position to fight a champion. Which is also why it is a REAL goal of Golovkin to collect all belts, not some plot. This way he will be a recognised champion and whoever wants this glory (including big money cows like Canelo) will have to go through him. Fighting Ward at this juncture in time is not useful, because GGG gains the weight and misses on all the match-ups at 160 (or maybe even below that)

Canelo isn't winning.

But, if he were he gets a voluntary defense before his mandatory. GGG can be a mandatory all he wants, he's going to be waiting at least until next late next year before his mandatory shot against Canelo is even enforced. Cotto when he wins is probably going to get Floyd to offer him a rematch, it'd be the biggest fight in boxing if Cotto beats Canelo. The WBC will simply make Floyd a voluntary and say GGG is the mandatory but give Cotto a voluntary defense. Then again they might strip Cotto after he wins give the title to GGG then simply make Cotto champion emirates or whatever the **** it is they do.

Cotto would fight GGG, but... he has better options, it's as simple as that.

whether the Ward-Triple Duck fight happens or not.. one thing is official, the "most feared" crap is pure myth, the hype bubble exploded. Nobody fears this clown with that paper thin resume. So in a way Ward stuck a dagger in Triple Duck's fabricated image.

I'm interested in seeing how this story ends. A belt is only worth as much as the fighter holding it imo. Ideally, GGG would be able to face the winner for the belt @160, but surely, the winner will try to get a catchweight. GGG should at least entertain a CW (for Cotto) if all else fails. Cotto/Canelo vacates, GGG takes a CW, or the WBC ****s GGG over in some way.
