Ward and Kovalev are closer still.
Not that that has any relevance to GGG vs Cotto, but I just thought I'd point it out.Comment

I think we can all scrap that nobody wants to fight GGG bs. Cuz that's what it is.... BSComment

I don't give a damn about the ABC groups because they corrupt and irrelevant. I also don't give a damn about them because I'm knowledgeable enough as a fan to know who's real, and who's not.It is quite convenient to put everything related to ABC organisations outside the brackets because at the moment it does not suit your agenda. But relying on ABCs is the best way for Golovkin. He is from obscure country and did not have nationalistic or ethnic-driven fanbase. He can succeed only basing on merit. ABCs provide at least some semblance of the fair game, where the talented fighter can rise in the rankings and earn a mandatory position to fight a champion. Which is also why it is a REAL goal of Golovkin to collect all belts, not some plot. This way he will be a recognised champion and whoever wants this glory (including big money cows like Canelo) will have to go through him. Fighting Ward at this juncture in time is not useful, because GGG gains the weight and misses on all the match-ups at 160 (or maybe even below that)
And your entire obscure country/needs belts argument goes to **** in two simple words, Manny Pacquiao. He's from an obscure country. His breakthrough into elite status, the first Barrera fight. No ABC belt on the line. The entire Morales trilogy, no ABC belt was on the line in any of those fights. His breakthrough into becoming a crossover star, against DLH. Again, no ABC belt was on the line. His signature KO against Hatton, no ABC belt was on the line.
So explain to me again why GGG needs to chase belts against ****ty fighters again. Cause I've got more. Floyd Mayweather, highest earning fighter in boxing history, never unified all the ABC belts in any of the five divisions he won belts in. Manny Pacquiao, never unified all the ABC belts in any of the eight divisions he won belts in. Oscar de la Hoya, mega crossover star. Never unified all the ABC belts in any of the six divisions he won belts in. Notice a theme? Cause from where I'm sitting, it seems like a willingness to move up chase bigger names and the best fighters is the way to crossover stardom than sitting around fighting for meaningless trimkets against paper titlist.
You're turn.Comment

Well Its Ward begging for the fight not GGG, Golovkin is doing Ward a favour here all Ward needs to do is agree the terms he is afterall suppose to be the second best fighter in the world according to some on here so...
We all know who does better numbers and its certainly not Ward.Comment

Or the guy who realizes that GGG cares more about the payday against the Cotto-Canelo winner moreso than the belt.Comment
