at age 18 ggg was at 140 just like cotto. the difference is ggg didn't turn pro until he was fully grown. asking ggg to move up now is not the same as a young man naturally moving up as his body grows.

Let's try and drain Ward cause we think we're the "A side" but Cotto isn't allowed to do the same to us even tho he's the "A side".

stop with the false equivalencies please. cotto and ggg are both champs in the same division. ward and ggg are not. ggg is cotto's mandatory therefore they have to fight at the full limit. if ggg and ward were in the same division you would have a point but since they are not you have no point. if ward was ggg's mandatory and ggg tried to fight him at 164 then you would have a point but since that is not happening you have no point.

If Cotto is forced to vacate, because GGG flexes his muscles, GGG will still be looking for a mega-fight. If Canelo wins, GGG will still be in the same situation, looking for a mega-fight, because Canelo will also demand 155. GGG could possibly unify the middleweight division, and still be a mediocre celebrity in the game. Without Mayweather, Pacquiao, Canelo, Cotto, Ward, and Froch, GGG is basically on the same level as Timothy Bradley!

I hear what you are saying and you are not far wrong but you are theorizing ass if we are frozen in time - as if everything is static. But the rankings, ratings, pulling power has a fluid dynamic to it. Just look at the change in Ward's situation over the last 4 years or even Danny Garcia's situation the last 2 years. GGG can unify and then move up. He can challenge a less stern test than Ward at SMW and gain a title. At some point, probably when he has shown some vulnerability, a ppv fighter will challenge him and he will make some decent money.

how is cotto the a-side? canelo just did 31k to cotto's 12k. canelo just did much better ratings than cotto. those things are generally the determiner of what makes an a-side. simply saying a guy is the a-side normally doesn't hold a lot of weight in the negotiations. you need proof.

By the end of 2016, Alvarez will be a full-blown MW and Alvarez/Golovkin will be the biggest fight to make in 2017. After Cotto, Alvarez will probably fight some MW's like Lemieux, Saunders, Centeno, and Quigley then fight GGG in a block bluster.

And let me guess, a 34 yr old will still be fighting at MW in 2017 feasting off C level competition. GGG will do anything to avoid 168, could you let him know by 2017 Ward will be gone so it's safe to move up.

Why do you keep repeating this **** about castillo. Castillo LOST. This thread has nothing to do with floyd nor castillo. Are you salty that floyd is undefeated. Nobody needs compubox to see manny lost, and since when has compuboc been used to score the winner of a fight. Fights are scored on a round to round basis. Floyd won more rounds and that's that. Castillo lost like 6 of the first 7 rounds and he go schooled in the second fight after floyd recovered from a REAL shoulder injury.

As far as GGG and his team, they've already said that cotto will never fight them and we all know that canelo will wait 2 years before he fights GGG so GGG needs to go up onne weight class get used to the weight and then fight ward if he won't fight him straight away.
