My P4P top 10 list

Honestly you can argue Floyd being moved from #1. He's mostly still ranked there because of popularity but his last three fights have shown he's not #1 anymore.

Gonzales, Kovalev, GGG, Rigo, and Ward have proven to be better fighters at this point in time.

And Deontay being ranked is a joke. Guy hasn't beaten anyone other than Stivern and Stivern only good win was against Arreola who had been both stopped and beaten on points before.

Floyd beat Pacquiao, a fighter who long reigned as the P4P best fighter, pretty decisively. He's never been knocked flat on his ass, as 3 out of the five fighters you listed have, and has fought more world champions in his last handful of fights than pretty much any other active fighter.

That is why he's still number one in many people's eyes.

1: Rigo almost got KO'ed by a Japanese journeyman and has hated boxing ever since.
2: Golovkin has done nothing remarkable in his entire career.
3: Gonzaled and Kovalev are good, but not P4P #1 material yet.
4: Ward is debatable at #1, but he needs to be more active.

As for Deontay Wilder, I see no reason to rank Golovkin above him.

Daniel Geale got DESTROYED by Golovkin and Cotto and he also lost to Mundine and Darren Barker. Stiverne had his Arreola wins and the jaw to go the distance against Wilder, P4P, Geale is not anywhere near Stiverne.

Im not debating that Geale lost. But to say that Stiverne himself is "rated p4p" higher than Geale is laughable.

Geale getting destroyed by old-overrated-Trout-leftovers Cotto is as embarassing as it would be if Povetkin got destroyed Golovkin, it is guys from completely different weight classes. No cruiserweight, light heavyweight or super middleweight would stand a chance against Stiverne.

I think most P4P lists are unfair, so I made this, which I consider the most accurate P4P list so far. I have backed it up with arguments to show how objective I have tried to be. No other list can really make sense to me.

P4P top 10:
1 - Floyd Mayweather
2 - Andre Ward
3 - Wladimir Klitschko
4 - Manny Pacquiao
5 - Sergey Kovalev
6 - James DeGale
7 - Alexander Povetkin
8 - Timothy Bradley
9 - Nicholas Walters
10 - Deontay Wilder

1 - Floyd Mayweather:
This is an universal fact in boxing. I don't even feel like explaining why he is number 1 and you probably don't even want an explanation. We all agree on this. Water is wet, fire is hot and Mayweather is #1. And that's just the way it is.

2 - Andre Ward:
Undefeated and with victories against guys like Froch, Kessler, Abraham, Rodriquez, Dawson and Bika, it is fair to say that Ward got a resume that is second only to the resumes of Mayweather and Pacquiao, when looking at active boxers. This guy is absolutely phenomenal. He still got things to prove before he fairly can be considered on Mayweather's level, but looking at pure skills, he actually isn't that far behind. If he were to beat a few more names at 168 lbs (perhaps DeGale and Golovkin?) and then moved up to beat Kovalev, then even Mayweather would have trouble keeping up with this guy's resume.

3 - Wladimir Klitschko:
Any P4P list would be ****** without the heavyweight king at least being in the top 3 and Wladimir, as the current heavyweight king, certainly deserves it. Despite his glass jaw, he is a very big guy with good skills and enormous punching power and he has defeated a lot of solid opponents over the years (considering what has been available to him). Even Muhammad Ali, who I consider one of the best boxers ever, would have trouble with Wladimir. Ali would win, of course, but he would have trouble. Wladimir is dangerous for any HW champ in any era. He doesn't have a resume like Ward or Mayweather, but if he finally mans up and fights Deontay Wilder (the only guy with a serious chance to upset him), then he would take Ward's place as #2 (and until Ward fights Kovalev, then Ward would not be able to do a thing about it).

4 - Manny Pacquiao:
He is not what he used to be, but this guy is and will always be a legend. With victories against guys like Barrera, Bradley, Marquez, Clottey and Cotto, Pacquiao got a long list of impressive victories and in his prime, he was almost too dangerous to be human. But he is past his prime, so why do I still consider him the P4P #4 in the world? Because he recently fought to what I consider a draw against Floyd Mayweather, #1 in the world. Of course, Mayweather is the more perfect fighter of the two, but Pacquiao always was a stylistical nightmare for him. Good speed, good stamina, good workrate and a southpaw style. I had Pacquiao clearly winning 4 rounds, Mayweather clearly winning 4 rounds and 4 rounds that could go either way. But I don't have a problem with the score. That fight could be scored in any way, from a Pacquiao victory to a Mayweather victory to a draw. Respect to both of these legends. The only reason that Pacquiao is beneath Wladimir on my list is, that Wladimir has not been KTFO recently. But if Wladimir finally mans up to fight Wilder, then that might change.

5 - Sergey Kovalev:
A lot of people rate the hardhitting fighters Gennady Golovkin and Deontay Wilder highly and that's okay, but both guys needs to step up their competition and prove themselves a bit more. Kovalev, on the other hand, is a true killer (literally a killer, a murderer) and his resume is very good, with wins against Pascal, Hopkins and Cleverly. There is not really much to say, except this is one dangerous guy who is undefeated, got monstrous punching power, okay skills and a good resume. When (if the fights ever happen) Kovalev defeats Stevenson, Braehmer, Beterbiev and Ward, then he will be the undisputed P4P #1 when Mayweather retires. He is not yet proven enough to rank among legends like the top 4 on my list, but he is the closest of active boxers to get there.

6 - James DeGale:
Now this is where my list may differ from other lists. James DeGale? W. T. F.? Well, think about it for a moment. On other P4P lists, he got guys like these ranked above him:
- Alvarez (who lost to Mayweather, Trout and Lara)
- Lara (whose best win is an unimpressive Alvarez)
- Golovkin (who has yet to step up from fighting terrible opposition)
- Cotto (who has done nothing in recent years, except beating a cripple and losing to Trout)
- Brook (whose only rise to fame is a disputable win against Porter)
- Thurman (his resume is just as bad as Brook's)
Think for a moment... DeGale got robbed against Groves and he destroyed Andre Dirrell, the guy who gave Froch (168 lbs legend) and Abraham (160 lbs legend) pure boxing lessons. Andre Dirrell is a better win than any win on Ward's resume, Ward just has more quality wins. Everything considered, then think, isn't it kind of a joke to have guys like Lara, Cotto and Thurman ranked above him? James DeGale is #6 in the world and placing him any lower is ******.

7 - Alexander Povetkin:
This guy is probably one of the most overlooked and unfairly underrated fighters in all of boxing. He may not have a victory against an Andre Dirrell-kind of opponent and he may not be technically undefeated like DeGale is, but this guy got the second best resume in heavyweight and one of the best resumes among all active fighters. His only loss was against Wladimir in a fight that was so ****sexually ****0graphic that it really was less of a boxing match and more alike to something I wouldn't allow my kids to watch, but asides from that, he is on a killing spree now, brutally KOing one solid opponent after another and with wins against guys like Byrd, Chambers, Chagaev, Boswell, Huck, Wawrzyk, Charr, Takam and Perez, it would be unfair to place him any lower than the top 7 or 8. I don't even want to mention the Golovkin/Lara/Thurman/Cotto-guys again, forget them until they make themselves worth remembering.

8 - Timothy Bradley:
This guy gets hated on a lot, but he is the definition of a true warrior, never afraid of any challenge. He has won every match so far (yes, he DID beat Chaves), except his two losses to Pacquiao, but there is no shame in losing to a legend and doing okay in the process. He has defeated tough opponents like Provodnikov, Marquez, Alexander, Abregu, Peterson, Witter, etc. His resume is not great, but it is certainly better than the resumes of guys like Cotto, Alvarez and Golovkin. It was hard to choose between Povetkin and Bradley for the 7th spot, but while Bradley has taken a lot of damage in recent fights and looks like he might be on his way out of the game, Povetkin is on a killing spree and looking more dangerous than ever.

9 - Nicholas Walters:
This guy is young, skilled and punches VERY hard. This is the guy that would retire Rigondeaux if they ever fought and the guy that Lomachenko now ducks because he considers him too big. This is the undefeated beast who slaughtered Donaire and who just won against a very dangerous opponent in Miguel Marriaga. This, ladies and gentlemen, is Nicholas Walters. And if things continue like they do now, then this guy could very well be one of the future legends of the sport. He still got more to prove before ranking above guys like Kovalev, DeGale, Povetkin and Bradley, as his resume is not THAT impressive, but he got the potential to go very far. Keep your eyes open on this guy.

10 - Deontay Wilder:
Wilder got all the tools to take over the heavyweight division. He is young. He is tall. He is athletic. He is fast. He is undefeated. He got good stamina. And he is the most hardhitting person in the entire world, with a punching power so destructive that I can't imagine guys like Wladimir and Fury ever taking the chance of fighting him. He may not be the greatest technician, but he proved against Bermane Stiverne that he indeed is a smart and patient fighter with a surprisingly good jab. We usually see him fighting like a caveman as he brutally smashes his opponents, but when facing the only elite opponent he has fought yet (Stiverne), he proved to be quite skilled when he needs to be. He still needs to beat some more elite opponents to prove himself and I really think this guy would be able to upset Wladimir and Povetkin. He still got a lot to prove before he can get ranked above them, though. The reason that he is ranked just above Golovkin (who I have #11) is, that he got a higher KO percentage than him and got better size (weightclass considered), speed, stamina and skills. And his signature win (Stiverne) is better than Golovkin's signature win (Murray).
