Must be nice to have your record protected by your network.

Let's hope the recent back and forth makes HBO push for the Ward v GGG fight. I think a lot of us would like to see it.

Cowards don't fight, they talk trash. Gennady Golovkin is a coward.

So yeah fighting 4 times a year is easy to do when you're fighting lower caliber fighters
Ward's last 4 fights took over FOUR YEARS to do. I'm sorry but Ward is not a prize fighter, he is a guy who fights as a hobby! And I do not consider either the Dawson or Rodriguez fights as quality contests. If you do, you have really low standards. But then again, you are a Ward fan so your standards are non existent.

Did you see Froch's name in my post? I didn't. I don't care who Froch has fought, at least he was fighting and not suing the promoter who was responsible for his success in the Super Six tournament.

See any catchweight fights in GGG's resume? Remove the Super Six names from Ward's resume and what is left? A bunch of Pudwills and Poo Bears. Not one recognizable name.

WHy would GGG be maneuvered any different than anyone else? Its cool to be a big GGG fan, but you can't escape the fact that his opponents have been poor quality and his network has steered him away from fighting a guy that prior to being out some had AHEAD of Floyd.

Would you want a guy who you invested so much in and who is getting great ratings to possibly get exposed by a dude who can only sell in the Bay Area and has not connected with mainstream fans despite all the exposure he's had?

I think its more about GGG losing than ward being out and cited reasons why. I can respect your opinion, just don't ignore how HBO has used its broadcast and the fight game show to do everything they can to take this fight off the table.

You may want to see ward/GGG, just like I want to see Floyd/ggg. Tat doesn't mean everyone, especially HBO wants that. Remember GGG is a relatively low paid employee that gets extremely high TV ratings.

Why would HBO risk him losing to a Ward now, when an undefeated GGG maximizes the revenues from a Cotto or Canelo fight?
GGG vs Ward has been talked about for over a year now and it's true that HBO showed no interest in pushing for it. But that wasn't because they were worried about GGG losing. It was because, like Abel Sanchez said back then, the fight didn't make sense financially.

GGG needed time to his raise his profile and Ward needed to get back into the ring and do something to make people remember who he was.

So GGG is much better known now than he was a year ago, and Ward is fighting next weekend, but at LHW, not SMW, and Iskowitch at Roc is saying that Ward vs Kovalev is just as likely as Ward vs GGG.

So now, I guess, HBO need to hedge their bets and get people thinking about Ward vs Kovalev in case that's the way Andre decides to go after he fights Smith.

We'll never know if that's true or not. Because, when it mattered, Ward wouldn't come over and give it a try.
