You proved nothing other than Americans don't get that F1 is very popular worldwide, which is not shocking news since F1 is not that popular in the US.
Forget Barcham. The guy clearly has some ax to grind with Haymon and the PBC and will literally shoot down any argument that Haymon will come out good on this deal.

He thinks boxing exists in some vacuum where it will never be as marketable as tennis, golf, volleyball, etc. I'll bet if had to he'd say badminton ratings blow boxing out of the water..

    • People really hate PBC.

I thought boxing on Saturday afternoons was pretty cool. Guess people would rather have it like last year with one big televised card every month.

Sports is sports, and boxing is one of the easiest to connect personally with because you see them fully (no real protection) you see them going through visible pain while trying to achieve their goal.

Yea I did the whole way, because you are just a naysayer everything positive you overlook and play off like it can't ever work. I actually acknowledge it could fail, you don't acknowledge it can work.

Like my simple example in the beginning you can't even acknowledge that the brand itself will hold a value and say they won't get a TV contract with their current numbers which aren't worse than most team sports.
And you did not state exactly what value the brand has, you only make a claim that it has value with nothing to back it up. Once again, PBC itself has NO ASSETS. It has no fighters under exclusive contract. NOT ONE. It has nothing to sell. Anyone can set up a competing league, unlike team sports where the cost would be beyond consideration. Setting up a boxing show costs next to nothing.

Show me one major team sport that has similar ratings to boxing. Show me one major team sport that only has ONE game per week. I can watch baseball EVERY DAY OF THE WEEK. I can watch hockey EVERY DAY OF THE WEEK. You want to compare their ratings with that of boxing on Spike?

I am sorry, but saying that 'sports is sports' is like saying 'a movie is a movie'. If you actually believe that, you are an idiot.

It is pointless to attempt to debate this with you because you will not accept the possibility that PBC is not the greatest thing under the sun since sliced bread. You think that Al Haymon is the greatest business mind the world has ever known.

You make the claim that a network will give PBC a huge deal but do not give any concrete reasons to base this on. Why is it that tennis does not have a huge network deal? it is a much bigger sport than boxing. Why does F1, the biggest sport in the world, not have a US network deal? But you expect a fringe sport like boxing, a VIOLENT sport that is not family friendly, to be able to get a huge network deal that rivals major team sports even though it has ratings lower than reruns of COPS.

Good luck with your delusions. Tell me, what colour is the sky in your world?

GGG isn't on PBC or he's racist, it's that simple.

You were the one who brought F1 into the discussion and ran away when the facts were pointed out to you.

As for badminton, it probably does get higher ratings in China than boxing does in the US. LOLOLOLOL

Of course you were willing to let it die away. You got owned by multiple posters. Even now you are doing nothing but demonstrate how ignorant you are about sports in general by thinking boxing compares to any major sport. When you cannot win an argument, you find it better to simply slink back into the shadows that to admit that you were wrong.

It meant nothing to the discussion. Absolutely nothing. What does F1 ratings have to do with the PBC? Jack. I was merely pointing out that sports properties are hugely valuable and used F1 as maybe a bad example. It means nothing to the future success/failure of PBC...

Another person totally without a clue. This has nothing to do with either liking or hating or simply being disinterested in PBC. It has to do with the sustainability of their model. My views would be the same no matter who was behind this venture, whether it be Arum or ODLH or Top Rank or one of the networks directly. Unfortunately most people around here are not able to separate their personal feelings from the reality of the situation.

I enjoy watching the fights, I do not enjoy the rest of the production. I think they tried to fix something that was not broken and made serious mistakes. Nothing that cannot be corrected if they have the time to do so. But the basic business model is flawed and unsupportable and doomed to failure. PBC will not be getting any multi million dollar deal from a major network anytime soon.

See given how you have acted if I was wrong on that you would have pointed out to me how wrong I was. Since you have not that pretty much proves me correct~ and makes such efforts not worth my time.

Ratings are for individual events, to me that shows boxing should grow considering the scarcity of the performers. Maybe it does, maybe it doesn't but the rating are in line with a lot of other sports as they are now.

F1 is just not popular in the US, on the other hand the highest paid athlete for how many years has been an American boxer with a style that is for the connoisseur of the sport? So I am going to go with boxing in general has more US potential than F1 does but maybe if F1 gets an actual American team that can compete they could start to change that.

Oh and the only color I care about is the green~
