Exactly. PBC is flipping **** upside down & taking the power away from the promoters (who did lil to no good with it anyway so I don't understand the attachment to them by fans) so of course they are attempting to group tackle PBC now. This is just the beginning. Other promoters will join in. Only ones who won't are the few promoters Haymon uses as front men for PBC. So far this is the second lawsuit from Golden Boy against Haymon. Top Rank already sued him. Kathy Duva had a lawsuit against him. You got ESPN posting a article on their front page yesterday about how Haymon is controlling everything from the shadows and skirting the Ali act. HBO blasted Haymon late last year. Everybody knows he is in violation of the Ali act and that he is double dipping as manager and promoter. Haymon created a lot of enemies.
Promoters have been notoriously short sighted & I anticipate this is something Haymon Boxing & investors for PBC had already planned for as they are thinking longer term as they have spent more money than anyone in the sport in such a short period of time that I'm aware of anyway. This is a long game for PBC & its investors, GBP & those types are just looking to pay for tomorrows lunch.Comment

PBC was in trouble before this lawsuit the model is blatant over priced mismatches. Kill any major fight with all the other promoters and refuse to put your best fighters against each other. Haymon stops more fights then he creates and PBC TV Ratings have gone down. Second NBC show down from the first. Spike TV ratings down from the first. The CBS show was a disaster. Stories that they are giving away tickets for free. And now he's getting sued. His investors must be pis sed.Comment

I predict Hauser will be working for PBC within 18 months.Thomas Hauser's been saying it for years.
Probably time I go back and re-read some of Thomas Hauser's Haymon articles, like this one...

Didn't he used to dog HBO(?) til HBO hired him, then he became their biggest fan?Comment

When you act as a promoter and adviser for a fighter, you have a direct fiduciary stake in what that fighter does. This means you can force them to make decisions that are not in their best interests, i.e. turning down lucrative contracts to be promoted by other people, taking a dive, taking drugs to gain an advantage, whatever. Many of his top fighters are both promoted and managed directly by him.....that alone is in direct violation of the Ali Act and is a punishable offense.
This violation is enough to warrant a more in depth investigation. Especially when you are taking money out of other organizations' pockets, these people aren't just going to walk away, they will keep on him until something happens. The courts will ultimately feel compelled to take action, especially once more groups join in the lawsuit.Comment

That's what I said his plan was from day one but I got blasted for being a conspiracy theorist, just hating, lol. To me, at least, it was pretty clear from the jump where all this was heading.....creating the belts, isolating his boxers from the rest of boxing, etc. That's certainly his right to do but the rest of the boxing community isn't just going to let him take money out of their pockets.
Yeah , but u gotta admire the guy . Every man has testicles which produce testosterone , and as long as men have testosterone , they will attempt a takeover of their respective field . Lets stop hating a MAN for being a MAN . And lets definitely stop hating a MAN for excelling past his contemporaries . And lastly , lets DEFINITELY stop this moral high ground nonsense about Haymon breaking laws and not following the rules , as NO ONE DOES IN THIS DAMN BUSINESS !Comment
