HBO rejects Ward/Oosthuizen

Since first getting on HBO GGG has beaten 6 Ring ranked top tenners, all for far less than Ward demands for a tuneup.Thomas Oostuzien is 24-0, has fought a decent stretch of opponents, is ranked in the top 15 of the WBC/WBA and WBO, and had campained at 168, before his extended layoff and returning as a fleshy fighter at 175, yet HBO is refusing him as an opponent for Ward.
Golden Gloves’ eagerly awaited Stand and Deliver fight night’s build-up formalities concluded with the official weigh-in at Emperors Palace on Friday, March 13.

All the while, HBO has had no problem airing Golovkin's last 6 fights, even when they were against woefully overmatched opposition.
If 'Tommy Gun' isn't a worthy fight after Ward's been out of the ring for 18 months, who is?
Tommy is OK for a tuneup but not at 168 where he's a corpse, and not for the money being asked forComment

None of which changes the fact that the Murray fight did extremely well for an afternoon showing. GGG's popularity is snowballing. Probably because he doesn't stink up the joint when he fights, like a certain inactive SMW.Comment

So, let me get this straight; when talking about Gennady Golovkin, when can freely use the HBO numbers plus the international/replay numbers, yet when talking about anyone else, you're restricted to only the domestic HBO numbers. lolMiddleweight titleholder Gennady Golovkin’s 13th defense and 19th knockout in a row on Saturday against Martin Murray in Monte Carlo averaged 862,000 viewers on HBO, according to Nielsen Media Research. The fight peaked at 938,000 viewers. The fight was from Europe and aired live in the afternoon and blew away HBO’s 2014 live offerings from Europe -- Carl Froch-George Groves II from England averaged 700,000 viewers and Wladimir Klitschko-Kubrat Pulev averaged 620,000 viewers. Combining the live airing with the prime-time replay, Golovkin-Murray averaged 1.433 million viewers.

No one knows who GGG is doe.
Imagine how big the total viewers for Ward-Rodriguez would've been if they were allowed to count replay numbers.Comment
