And fat Dan is such a fan boy. He said that fight stinks but is happy about ggg vs Monroe. Also in the chat said he'd watch golovkin shadow box for 12 rounds. Dan hates boxers

No one knows who GGG is doe.
Desperation at its finest. Combining live + reruns.

Golovkin-Proksa, Rosado, Geale, Murray all failed to reach 1M during their live airing. That's 4 of his 7 HBO fights.

Thomas Oostuzien is 24-0, has fought a decent stretch of opponents, is ranked in the top 15 of the WBC/WBA and WBO, and had campained at 168, before his extended layoff and returning as a fleshy fighter at 175, yet HBO is refusing him as an opponent for Ward.

Golden Gloves’ eagerly awaited Stand and Deliver fight night’s build-up formalities concluded with the official weigh-in at Emperors Palace on Friday, March 13.

All the while, HBO has had no problem airing Golovkin's last 6 fights, even when they were against woefully overmatched opposition.

If 'Tommy Gun' isn't a worthy fight after Ward's been out of the ring for 18 months, who is?

They either want him against a big name or not at all.
This is my thought as well. Ward brings no drawing power and low entertainment value at a high price point. I think HBO would be just as happy at this point to see Ward ride off into the sunset.

they would probably have okayed it if ward wasn't demanding $3m. golovkin will probably get like $600k against monroe jr.

Well you have to do that for the Murray fight because of the time slot...

The fight took place at 5:00 EST on a Saturday. So you have to combine the live event with the re-run later on in the night.

Golovkin-Proksa was his first fight on HBO and I think we can excuse that one cause he wasn't anywhere near the attraction that he is now. Rosado fight had higher ratings but, again, he wasn't that big at the time.

The only GGG fight that was a disappointment was the Geale fight. Other than that he's given them high ratings at a cheap cost.
