Imagine how big the total viewers for Ward-Rodriguez would've been if they were allowed to count replay numbers.
If Ward was willing to fight in Europe, you could do the same with him, but....

There's been no indication, from anywhere that I've seen, that Ward is asking for $3m for this fight. Why folks like you continue to insist on the position with no evidence is beyond me.

Any fight that is broadcast in the US during daytime hours in the Eastern time zone can be combined with the replay ratings for a final number.

I don't know all the details so it's tough to give a definitive answer but from the outside youd think HBO and Ward/Roc would work together but, It just seems right now its a d!.ck measuring contest.

From the outside looking in its seems HBO is content to have the big names at 155-175 ( Canelo, GGG , Ward , Kovalev ) hopefully with some of them fighting each other down the road ). despite people acting like he pulls in Rigo/Agbeko #s he usually pulls in decent #s. Both sides need to work together it'll work out best for each party involved.

I just want Ward back in the ring and hope him signing to Roc doesn't backfire

All the while, HBO has had no problem airing Golovkin's last 6 fights, even when they were against woefully overmatched opposition.

If 'Tommy Gun' isn't a worthy fight after Ward's been out of the ring for 18 months, who is?
As some other posters have suggested, it must be about the money. Looking at Ward's past issues, it's easy to see that he has an inflated ego, and bad judgement. The man sidelined his career to sue his former promoter, while still asking him to get him fights. He's been out of the ring since November, 2013, has reportedly settled his differences with the Goossens, but still can't get a fight. Why did he sign with upstart Roc Nation, which won't do business with Al Haymon, who has an army of fighters to Jay Z's two? Ward would hardly fight outside of California when he was hot, which limited his exposure. I hope he doesn't think he's worth millions, because right now, he isn't. You have to earn that ****, Andre! You're basically starting over. Time to get humble.

I wonder if they flat out rejected Tommy Ooze or if it was because Ward wanted millions for this crap.

                    Likely a combination of both.

-He's beaten the Ring-ranked #10/#9 fights for most of those fights; with middlewight being as soft a division as it is, let's not hype it up like he's knocking off major guys.

-I haven't seen anything about what Ward is asking for the fight. (With RocNation in the fold, my guess is that Ward will be able to leverage far more revenue streams than just the TV rights fee and the gate for his full purse).

Andre Ward is the #2 p4p fighter on the planet, America's last boxing Olympic gold medalist, is a clean-cut guy who can talk, and has kept his face in front of HBO's viewers during the entire stretch that he was inactive. Sleep on his star power if you want.
