If they paid Ward once 2m for a tuneup, doesn't mean they have to again. Its good to learn from mistakes, something you should think about especially
      Pretty much.

Golovkin's cheaper, fights 3-4 times a year, and generates buzz and ratings.

      Ward...commentates.

Andre Ward has fought on HBO twice. 1.3M viewers vs. Dawson. 1.2M viewers vs. Rodriguez.

Gennady Golovkin has fought on HBO 7 times. He failed to even break a million viewers 4 of those times. You're definition of "in-demand" is jaded and wrong. The only people in this country that even know who Golovkin is are Mexicans and the ******* that post on this forum.

As far as I'm concerned Ward can kick rocks. He's not exciting and he hasn't fought in 2 years. He won't fight any of the top guys at 175. He won't fight outside of North America.

            golovkin-stevens got 1.4m viewers, golovkin-rubio: 1.3m, golovkin-geale: 950k.

he is at least as big a draw as ward yet ward gets paid two to three times more than him

But still, if Ward wants to consider himself to be the best, then he has to fight the best. SMW is a pretty decent division, so many names he could get in the ring with right now.

Middleweight titleholder Gennady Golovkin’s 13th defense and 19th knockout in a row on Saturday against Martin Murray in Monte Carlo averaged 862,000 viewers on HBO, according to Nielsen Media Research. The fight peaked at 938,000 viewers. The fight was from Europe and aired live in the afternoon and blew away HBO’s 2014 live offerings from Europe -- Carl Froch-George Groves II from England averaged 700,000 viewers and Wladimir Klitschko-Kubrat Pulev averaged 620,000 viewers. Combining the live airing with the prime-time replay, Golovkin-Murray averaged 1.433 million viewers.
