HBO rejects Ward/Oosthuizen

-He's beaten the Ring-ranked #10/#9 fights for most of those fights; with middlewight being as soft a division as it is, let's not hype it up like he's knocking off major guys.
-I haven't seen anything about what Ward is asking for the fight. (With RocNation in the fold, my guess is that Ward will be able to leverage far more revenue streams than just the TV rights fee and the gate for his full purse).
Andre Ward is the #2 p4p fighter on the planet, America's last boxing Olympic gold medalist, is a clean-cut guy who can talk, and has kept his face in front of HBO's viewers during the entire stretch that he was inactive. Sleep on his star power if you want.
And what revenue streams would those be? Please inform us! Inquiring minds want to know!!!
And please find us a P4P list that has Ward still on it. Any current list will do, from any reputable source. The only thing that has kept his face on HBO is being a commentator or having it plastered on the screen when his lawyer sends emails to Lampley about GGG. No one on HBO has talked about Ward as an active boxer in years.Comment

Surely you don't think I'm arguing that GGG is a bigger HBO draw than Ward. So, let me get this straight; when talking about Gennady Golovkin, when can freely use the HBO numbers plus the international/replay numbers, yet when talking about anyone else, you're restricted to only the domestic HBO numbers. lol
Imagine how big the total viewers for Ward-Rodriguez would've been if they were allowed to count replay numbers.
Better deal for less than half the money? Absolutely.Comment

How many people wanted to rewatch Golovkin beat on another hapless opponent who, though tough, didn't really come with enough of a punch to try and hit back? what's your point?
If Ward-Rodriguez was aired twice domestically and internationally, there would've been viewers tuning into all three broadcasts. You add the 1.2m who saw the first run of the fight, to the viewers that watched the replays and the international broadcast, and the fight would've been seen by well over 2m viewers, regardless of how you felt about the actual fight.
'OMG, Ward's starpower dwarfs Canelo Alvarez's'!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1!!!!!!!!!!!

Good. HBO turned down Oosthuizen when he was talked about being a GGG opponent a few years ago. No way should they accept Ward fighting a worse version of Tommy for a higher price.Comment

I'm a fan of Ward but why all this demands about getting a 7 figure payday for fighting a nobody? You can be sure too Ward would demands he be the main fight.
Against a top opponent Ward would be in the main fight, but against a nobody Ward can possibly be on the undercard. Or else the "co-main" event.Comment
