Should points be taken away for running?

/Thread , if you run and do nothing , you lose the round , you run all night , you lose the fight and the fans .No. If a fighter is using movement to control distance and set up their punches and are basically controlling the round they shouldn't be penalized. Likewise if a fighter is running but isn't the one controlling the fight then they should simply lose the round. What boxing needs is competent judges, not rule changes to appease the bloodthirsty crowd.Comment

You should be penalized with a ban for this horrible thread. Of course not because it's too subjective plus how long would it have to go on for to get categorized as running? What if the fighter got hurt b or dropped multiple times the round before and is trying to recover. If you run you lose the round is that simple.Comment

Points do get taken away, in the eyes of the judges. Ask Oscar.I recall watching the movie Cinderella Man where Braddock is fighting a guy and the fight is lackluster. So do they let it go on? No. They stop it and call a no contest. I think it is a good ruling.
I think the same thing about running. I know a lot of guys use movement, but some are just flat out running. At one point in his fight with Howard Eastman, Bernard Hopkins flat out turned his back and ran away.
Shouldn't points be taken away when a "fighter" does this?Comment

They did in De La Hoya-Trinidad, but often times they don't. The decision could have easily went the other way. I'm a big Morales fan, but his first fight with Espadas is a case where the runner got rewarded. Of course, he proved himself in the rematch, but if a guy is circling the ring and not throwing, that is running and a slap in the face to fans.Comment

My...what an ugly thing to say. Does this mean we are not friends? If you weren't my friend I don't think I could bear it.You should be penalized with a ban for this horrible thread. nah you already lose (USUALLY) the round when you run.
clinching should be 1 pt off or counted as kd (like taking a knee)
you can fight without clinching.Comment

Mosley wasnt shot stop that lyin lol. He was OLD, but he wasnt near shot, he beat the crap out of Margarita and Floyd was old as well. He walked Shane down from the opening round.
He also walked down Canelo, having zero respect for his power, from the opening round. Canelo was much more dangerous than Mosley. He was big af, and had a 15lb weight advantage!Comment
