People have already paid to see Degale. Degale-Groves sold out 02 and was on PPV. And Degale at the time was bigger than Groves.

His win on Frochs undercard just furthers it.

Yeah Froch-Golovkin would still do decent because Froch is a star. Probably as good as say Froch-Bute but it's not going to compare to the domestic fights.

People would arguably be paying to see DeGale lose. If it wasn't for DeGale playing the villain against Groves, that fight wouldn't have done nearly as well as it would have. Same for Groves in the Froch fights, he did a lot to help sell them despite Froch being the draw.

I'm sorry to say but casual fans won't care that much about a fighter they don't know KOing other fighters that they know even less about. It's more about the rivalry between two British fighters that gets the public interested.

No one is saying that Froch-GGG wouldn't do well, it's just not as big a fight as it needs to be to materialise at this point.

They really don't. Have you heard Bellew's reasoning for hating Cleverly? Doesn't even make sense. Cleverly doesn't seem all that arsed with Bellew - he has no reason to hate him. It's quite easy to manufacture a rivalry. DeGale and Froch have already started having a few digs at each other. It would build and casuals would get ****** in

If people are going to sh|t on GGG's middleweight title reign, they damn well better start sh|tting on Hopkin's Middleweight title reign also.

Both of them have fought a ton of fringe guys, but Hopkins was allowed to stay the course until he said he was done there. Hopkins stuck around and feasted on smaller guys also. Both of them were affected by a weak division.

Ahh the typical generic "you mad" response when a guy gets owned on a subject and can't respond. You're British, stop talking like that

You haven't owned me on anything. I just think it's ridiculous you think DeGale would be a bigger fight than GGG, it's ******ed and I know for a fact that you're not ******ed, which leaves one thing and it's very typical on this forum. When you're guy is in danger against a top opponent, make that opponent look bad by any means necessary. It's sad, be objective, don't let your girly crush get in the way of you being a boxing fan.

And yo, I type like however the hell I want on this forum. Ain't no thang!

Hopkins stayed at middleweight and picked up every available title. Say what you want about the strength of the division at the time, Hopkins beat champions/titlists. He also beat Tito, a guy who was coming across as an absolute destroyer and Hops was an underdog. He ended up destroying him. Add in some other good names and you have a more than above average title reign.

GGGs Tito may well be Canelo if he can move up in weight, annihilate Cotto and then GGG annihilates him.

I don't think it will be a bigger fight. I know it will be a bigger fight. In the UK of course because that's what we were talking about.

Now I'm wondering how any sane individual can think that a completely unknown fighter would sell better than a domestic world title fight between two well known Brits in the UK? How does one come to such a conclusion without having a total and utter brain fart?

Again I speak with no authority on the UK scene, but Ggg seems to get a fair amount of coverage there. Just today theres an article in the Daily Mail on how Murray might be next for the destroyer. His name comes up a lot in interviews with Froch, Groves, the Brit middles. All his fights are aired on sky or boxnation.

Yes he's covered by the UK boxing media which is a very small portion of the UK sports media let alone the wider media. Hardcore boxing fans know who GGG is - we've already established this.

Carl Froch is beyond that now. He's a celebrity
