Now I'm wondering how any sane individual can think that a completely unknown fighter would sell better than a domestic world title fight between two well known Brits in the UK? How does one come to such a conclusion without having a total and utter brain fart?
GGG is pretty well promoted and seen on skysports...you know, the countries biggest sports provider and the tv channel that promotes that guy called carl froch...

James DeGale was just shown on the under card of Carl Froch's last fight which was on primetime Sky television. He's been on terrestrial television for most of his career.

Golovkin is shown at 4 in the morning on Sky Sports when no one is watching.

Come on now, it's not rocket science. Please don't tell me you actually believe Golovkin vs Froch would sell better in the UK than two high profile British fighters. Please.

Golovkin's résumé would be acceptable for a young up and coming fighter in his early 20's. However, he's 31 years of age with only two wins over former world champions on his resume. Most of his notable KO's were against junior middleweights that have been stopped before. We all know that in boxing, age does play a significant factor. If Golovkin's team cannot find any opponents at 160 pounds to fight him then why won't he fight a top contender or former world champ at 168? A lot of fighters move up in weight if they can't find a notable opportunity in their weight class. Most Golovkin fans base their opinions on Golovkin by rating his intangibles instead of dissecting his competition and coming into the realization of where a 31 year old world champion should be. Kid Chocolate has a better résumé than Golovkin based on the world class level he's beaten but still he's being trolled by Golovtards. The truth is, if Golovkin cannot find any notable opponents at 160 there is a variety of fighters at 168 with decent names that he can test that power against. It's funny how beating Rubio does wonders for Golovkin but when Chavez Jr beat him it didn't count.

Let's see whether what you say is true. At the time:

-Sergey Khomitsky had never been stopped before. (Khomitsky was later robbed againt Martin Murray & former super middleweight world champion Robert Stieglitz).

-Nilson Julio Tapia had never been stopped before. (Tapia's best win is Jorge Sebastian Heiland).

-Kassim Ouma; Former light middleweight champ and had been stopped before.

-Gregorz Proksa had never been stopped before (Proksa beat former world middleweight champion Sebastian Sylvester).

-Gabriel Rosado; Had been stopped before but later fought "Kid Chocolate" and if it weren't for Rosado's paper skin, Quillin probably would've gotten a BS UD robbery victory.

-Matthew Macklin had been stopped before (Macklin handily beat Felix Sturm and got the German treatment for his effort).

-Curtis Stevens had been stopped before (Best win is former super middleweight titleholder Piotr Wilczewski).

-Daniel Geale had never been stopped before (Geale is a former world middleweight champion who beat Sturm in Germany and unlike Macklin got the much deserved dub. Geale also beat Sebastian Sylvester & Roman Karmazin & Anthony Mundine).

-Marco Antonio Rubio had been stopped before (Rubio knocked out an undefeated David Lemieux. Also Julio Cesar Chavez Jr failed to KO Rubio).

So let's put Rosado, Ouma & Proksa in the light middleweight column and keep in mind that Quillin was losing to Rosado and got saved by Rosado's paper skin.

As for Quillin having a world class resumé... Really?

Both of their resumes are pretty poor. Golovkin has a slightly better overall resume than Quillin but I'd say N'Dam was better than anyone on GGG's resume.

DeGale was shown on channel 5, fighting in front of 500 people in a shopping centra down the road from me. He hardly had an audience of millions, don't try and build him up like Khan on terrestrial tv, he just wasn't and isn't on teh same level of recognisability.

All this coming from a guy who actually would prefer DeGale v Froch, I even spoke about it in another thread but we have to get real here, the big money is in a GGG fight as are exceptional PPV numbers although I'm sure against DeGale Froch would do AT THE VERY LEAST 500k buys, however, against Golovkin, it would be another whopping 1m.

But hey, we won't know till it happens.

oops it did 900k, for some reason had the 1.2m in my mind. still like I said, we'll only see if these fights happen and there's no reason ,if froch wants to stick around, that these fights don't happen.

Its easy to deduce what would do better. You don't need "wait and see". The British public are always drawn by a big domestic clash. The public have no idea who Golovkin is
