It is a mandatory, the fight will happen once terms and conditions are agreed upon.

If quillin fights Jacobs-he is fighting the better opponent for less monwy-not something we usually see in boxing today.

      Very bizarre.
So Jacobs is automatically a better fighter than Korobov now? You know this how? Or are you just speculating? Why do you think this?

Not automatically, I said this to you yesterday. He's fought better opposition. Is ranked higher in terms of MW's in rankings like *********. Maybe I just know more of the people he has fought.

Neither of them have fought stellar opposition. I mean Jacobs did once, and got stopped hard in that fight.

lol Barely... best wins are Lorenzo and chinny Fletcher... I add Fletcher because he somehow squeaked past Bursak.

But we all know Korobov would murder both those guys...maybe even Uzcategui... Definitley Uzcategui over Fletcher.

Hell, I think Derek Edwards would give Jacobs nightmares with that overhand right that sparked Jack and hurt Korobov. He'd be on the ground again re-evaluating his life

ok. Prior to the bid by roc nation most who weighed in felt Jacobs was a really good fight. Not many, if any, suggested that he fight Korobov, the mando, instead or suggested it would be a better fight.

All things equal-my guess is more people would prefer Jacobs-but that simply could be name recognition.

I am not implying its world's apart.

I like the fight.... the way it's happening now though is ******. They had a chance to make it earlier this year...but they opted to go with Konecny in the spring. Now when they wait for the purse bid and go through with it... they're possibly pulling out to make this?

It's not about money because he could fight Korobov, win/lose then take up Jacobs...two paydays, one being 1.4 million (well, whatever he gets from it)

Jacobs is a good fight for Quillin, just not under these circumstances. Jacobs as an opponent can wait. They only reason the Quillin/Jacobs fight is even being shopped right now is to get out of another fight. A fight against an unproven guy who Quillin can beat. They are however willing to not only pass up on a career high payday, but also give up their belt to avoid it.

If they go through with this, it will make them look terrible.

Translation: I boxrec'd Jacobs and Korobov and assumed, instead of actually watching their fights

you would be mistaken sir. I don't go to box rec. Its only because Jacobs has fought more US fighters, which are the ones I'm most familiar with.
