if its any of these it would have to be #2 because Jacobs is a better opponent than Korborov. The three biggest reasons on the top of my head are
1: Haymon does not want to risk another one of his prime undefeated fighters to lose against another Top Rank fighter again. (think Russell Jr)
2: Haymon wants to be in control, and does not want to give JayZ anything.
3: Quillin got cold feet.
We can all pick and choose. Any single or multiple selection probably fits. They all might fit.
If quillin fights Jacobs-he is fighting the better opponent for less monwy-not something we usually see in boxing today.
Very bizarre.Comment

I wonder if Haymon can get him anything close to the same payday if that happens.Well, expect him to get stripped today

Still ****** to drop his belt rather than fight his mandatory for that money. It's not like Korobov has proven himself some world-beater Quillin can't beat.Comment

I think at most he could get him a million... but honestly, not a lot of guys make more than that a fight and Showtime already gotta drop money for some of their other main event guysComment

I can't imagine Showtime can afford to pay for all these fighters to make the paydays Haymon is known for and has them used to. That's probably why so many of his fighters are fighting twice a year and at least once against crap opponents. Showtime would have to pay too much for the good fights.
Something there has to give eventually. Either Haymon fighters fight on HBO again or they make less money.
Although I suppose taking Mayweather's paydays off the books starting next year frees up a lot of money.Comment
