So if Peter abandons his belt tommorrow for Jacob's WBA interm belt, what will they do if Hyrunov wins the purse bid for Dmitry Chudinov in the eventual mandatory fight? Drop the WBA reg/int belt for Taylor's IBF? Really hope Sam pulls out the win...

Strictly hypothetical but worst case scenario down the road is there's a purse bid for Jacobs/Quillin to fight Golovkin, Haymon wins and makes the fight on Showtime and Golovkin is unable to defend due to his HBO contract and team Haymon take the belt without a fight. I think at some point Haymon's going to create his own title org. and the only way you can be ranked is if you're signed to him.

I go not see that happening at all. LOL if Golovkin is forced to fight off Network I am sure HBO would understand.

Quillin might be stripped today for ducking

Unbelievable... all he had to do was defend his title... he even went through with the purse bid and stands to lose out on 1.4 million dollars!

              http://*******.com/PeterQuill

Seriously, was given 2 extensions since the 28th of August and he's saying family is why? GTFO, I knew he was a duck, but didn't know he'd duck Korobov. I know Korobov would kick his ass, but that Quillin would have that little confidence in himself?

And now they're looking at Jacobs/Quillin?

This confirms what a coward he was and that he'd never fight GGG. Jesus, if he wins the WBA regular, he won't fight GGG because he won't even fight his own mandatory now.

Quillin is an embarrassment to the sport and should just stop

Born in Chicago too. He seems to be sticking with the Brooklyn/Cuban thing though.

Jacobs/Quillin probably the best on paper fight they'd make this year

The thing is, Quillin was not even interested in fighting Jacobs until being forced to fight Korobov. So he is willing to turn down more money (more money he has earned in his last 4 fights combined) for less money, and lose his strap.

They can dress this up all they want. They can call it Brooklyn Dynamite and toss out the party streamers, but we all know why this is happening.

The three biggest reasons on the top of my head are

1: Haymon does not want to risk another one of his prime undefeated fighters to lose against another Top Rank fighter again. (think Russell Jr)

2: Haymon wants to be in control, and does not want to give JayZ anything.

                      3: Quillin got cold feet.

We can all pick and choose. Any single or multiple selection probably fits. They all might fit.
