You didn't see these fights. It as simple as that.Chambers was perhaps the fastest HW boxer that ever lived you idiot, with nothing less than an "excellent" record, only ever losing t upper eschelon fighters.
The fact that Peter and Chambers fought to an MD is a PROOF of the quality of Peter as a boxer, NOT the other way around!
As usual you guys take a positive and spin it to a negative.
Disgraceful!!Comment

You're not taking into consideration of the boxers statuses at the time those matches happened, clearly. This isn't debate class so stop trying to play devils advocate to try and back up your skeptic views.Mike Tyson beat Holmes and Berbick who beat Ali. Tyson must be the greatest of all time?
You don't really know what you are talking about do you?
Peter wouldn't have lasted the opening round against Mike Tyson or Joe Louis
MWs and LHWs beat and out boxed prime James Toney. A dangerous man at HW who bounced around Wlad Klitschko got out boxed by a fat and shot James Toney.
Toney who was years past it and not anymore good enough to compete in his own division went 1-1 over 24 rounds with Peter. Toney was robbed because he had no business or future at HW and because Peter was a Don King fighter.
.
Let that sink in before you glorify this Sam Peter.
Robert Helenius ended his career in a one sided mis-match and who was Robert Hinenius? A guy who was beaten pillar to post by Derrick Chisora.
I'm not sure how we got to the point but Peter wasn't a bum until Vitali abused him. That is blatantly clear.

That was the most disgraceful heavyweight championship fight I've ever seen in my life. Wlad could have been disqualified 2 or 3 times by the 6th round.I was lazily watching that video embedded in your post and thinking to myself "Wow, that's some pretty full on wrestling-like clinches, that must get tiring by the 6th, 7th etc rounds" and as I watched maybe the 4th or 5th huge blatant octopus clinch, thought to myself "That's got to be one massive clinch a round, surely when it gets to the middle rounds, the ref has to start thinking of at least warning him" then I look down and see in the corner of the screen that we are only 30 seconds in to the first ****ing round!!!
I nearly fell off my chair. I remember it being bad, but that is well beyond bad. That is into twilight zone, another realm, ****ing absurd territory. When you fight Wlad, you enter Wlad's own special clinchiverse. How the ref doesn't say anything is a disgrace. Even worse is that many, if not all, of his most ardent fans will have the gall to then go and criticise someone like Mayweather, who on his very worst day, will do that same amount of obvious clinches across a whole 12 round fight...but to do that many within the first 30 seconds of the very first round...and keep that same pattern up for a whole fight.
The people who talk **** about anyone else clinching and then defend that fight need to get a life, because they are idolizing Wlad on an unhealthy level. There is no defending it, and anyone who uses the Povetkin fight as proof of his greatness is ridiculous. I honestly wonder how Povetkin would do with a fair ref like the one from the Jennings fight, because clearly Wlad felt so threatened that he cheated on a level that has probably rarely been seen in any fight ever.Comment

I don't agree with boxing goat on most issues involving the Klitschkos, but I actually have enough respect for him as a poster, that I may implore him to examine a view held....which, I would be wont to do as well, when asked by a poster with views diametric to my own...
You have no perspective, I find it impossible to even consider your opinions seriously and I don't....so sorry, your opinion is a known commodity and it has the value of a known commodity, which fertilizes crops if you catch my drift.Comment

Nah its all povatkin's fault.... Elroy told me.That was the most disgraceful heavyweight championship fight I've ever seen in my life. Wlad could have been disqualified 2 or 3 times by the 6th round.

theyd have about as much trouble as wlad had in the rematch ( not much). youre forgetting wlad was at an all time low when he fought peter the first time in terms of confidence. I know peter was always limited but he was very strong physically and had heavy hands with a granite chin. wlad survived some rough spots and improved since that fight while peter was never the same. that fihght broke peter's confidence imo and he never came in good shape since that fight with the exception of maybe the second toney fightDo you really think a champion on the order of Tyson, Lewis, Liston, Patterson, Ali etc would have much trouble with Peter? Its a legitimate gripe...Look even Vitali who most consider inferior to Vlad (I don't) showed exactly what a champion with a decent jab would do to Peter.Comment

Peter's getting a bit unfairly bashed here, IMO. He was never a world beater but at his best he was still a tough and rugged customer with an iron chin and huge physical strength, even if that strength didn't necessarily always translate into punching power. He was also, at one point, looking to develop into quite a promising fighter after he battered Toney around the ring second go round, but that promise, for one reason or another, never materialised. Towards the end he turned into a walking punchbag, and while that's no one's fault but his own, it's still unfair to judge him on those performances and extend that back across his entire career.
Of course Fury would have beaten him without breaking a sweat, but that's neither here nor there.Last edited by Fury4daWIN; 09-10-2015, 12:11 AM.Comment

Agreed. Going into the fight worried that he'll get robbed on the cards if he doesn't end things early is going to mess up his whole game. If it happens it happens. The resultant backlash will force a rematch anyway.I think its a mistake for fury to be thinking of the judges. if he thinks his only way of getting the "w" is by knockout it could prove to be his undoing. he just needs to focus on winning rounds. hes not the type of ****er that really gives wlad problems but he has a great gas tank and work rate. he has a very descent chance of out pointing wlad if hes careful and uses his legs. if it comes down to crooked judges then shame on them but fury shouldnt be thinking about that. anyway,,,,there's no guarantee hes going to get screwed by the judges. not everyone gets robbed out there. if he thinks nothing but kayo he could end up like pulevComment
