Martinez looked fine until he got punched on the temple, then behind the head and later behind the ear. Remember how Amir Khan looked strong against Garcia until he got caught behind the ear, Amir khan got back up but he never looked the same again. When you are concussed and you equilibrium is affected you will not be the same.
size doesnt matter when it comes to punching power?!?!? Punching power comes from your weight of your body and lower body in specific. Wtf are weight classes for??? im done dude.

Then you should know that a lighter man can sometimes punch better then a heavier man. Weight just means you can weight behind a punch it doesnt necessarily mean your punch can knock someone out. So many factors adds to a good punch, arm, muscle and bone alignment, speed of punch, angle of punch, heavy handedness, weight, punching power, speed of recoil which is what made Bruce Lees one inch punch so powerful, muscle strength etc... to say a bigger man is the better puncher because hes the bigger man is wrong.

Well to be fair how many ppl here have said Cotto isnt a 100% anymore and is way past his Prime? That he lost 2 consecutive fights and beat a bum last year? Too many ppl. I picked Cotto to beat Sergio up. Whether they were both in their Prime or not, i still think Cotto beats him.

Cotto winning means it will be that much harder for Lara to get a fair shake against Canelo. He's gonna have to stop Canelo or make it and obvious lopsided fight.

no1 is discussing the intangibles of a knockout. i was talking about pure punching power. and yes, 9/10 the heavier fighter will punch harder.

Chavez was draining himself cutting fat and muscle to make weight, his weight gain the night before the fight was superficial, it wasn't like he put on 20 lbs of muscle it was all water weight. Cotto built a significant amount of muscle for this fight and didnt drain at all. His punches were faster, sharper, more crisp and thudding, where chavez punches were slow, wide, sloppy and rarely landed. It is perfectly conceivable that Cotto was hitting harder the Chavez at this stage.

Sergio made Chavez look slow, wide, sloppy because his knees were not an issue that night. And there were many times Chavez made Sergio fight on the inside and Sergio was holding his own. The Sergio from the Chavez fight would dismantle Cotto. I dont care how much you try and twist it, Cotto doesnt punch harder then Chavez. Any realistic boxing fan knows that.
