    I love it.

NSB: all kinds of doctorate analysis on Martinez knee)
Martinez: No, my knee was fine.

It's like two co-defendants turning against each other in two seperate interview rooms.

    This rocks!
Nsb is floaded with doctors and business men lol

its still too soon, give it a few more days and the excuses will start pouring out.. right now martinez just wanna keep his head held high but once he starts reading comments from cotto, the fans, etc. he's gonna get pissed and the excuses will follow. everyone has excuses. some might not say it right away but after some time they will bring it up and use excuses as to why they lost the fight. look at cotto when he lost to manny he made no excuses then years later he starts saying the CW bothered him, etc.

I fully expected them to be claiming about the legs not working by now....

Props to team Martinez for taking the 'L' like men.

That said, Sergio is older and showed that in the fight.

I fully, 100% think that the Sergio prior to the Chavez fight would have been competitive and possibly beaten Cotto.

When he did manage to land, Cotto was clearly feeling his shots because he did the arm cross defensive habit he does when he gets hurt. That tells me that even this version of Martinez managed to get enough torque on his shots to make a difference. Imagine what a prime one would do.

lol Good post. You might be right.

For the time being, I like how Sergio is handling this. I was a fan going into the fight, and I'm a bigger fan now.

Very, very few fighters go out on top. Almost everyone sticks around too long. Maravilla stuck around a little too long. Champions always think they can win.

I'll tell you one thing, the thought of never recovering from blows in the first round and continuing to fight for another nine is mind-boggling to me. The balls that takes are off the charts.

Cotto looks pretty much as good or better than ever and I consider 33 years old prime years....

And once again if you know about fighting you would know that the size of the person does not mean that person is a stronger puncher. Martinez looked fine until he got punched on the temple, then behind the head and later behind the ear. Remember how Amir Khan looked strong against Garcia until he got caught behind the ear, Amir khan got back up but he never looked the same again. When you are concussed and you equilibrium is affected you will not be the same.
I must say you are making very good points. It matters little though. These guys are not going to give cotto credit. They don't care what Martinez says so I doubt they listen to anyone lol

Perfectly stated. I thought Miguel was on the decline due to his performances of the last few years. But 33 years old is plenty young for a fighter, especially in this day and age. The Cotto I saw own the lineal middleweight champion on Saturday night looked better than I'd ever seen him look.
