The one question Sergio he kept getting from everybody was his god damn knee going into the fight, they even should it on 24/7 in a little mini montage. Everyone is giving Sergio his props for not making excuses after the fight which is classy. But what the hell is he suppose to say???? "Yea Max, Miguel is a great champion, but I just couldnt anything out of legs today, I tried to follow a gameplan but couldn't really sit down on of my punches, it just wasn't the same out there, still give credit to Cotto and his team." Some people need common sense. Little known fact MRI's are to see if there is a bone rupture or not thats it!, no1 says you have to be an MD to know things like that. The fact is this guy had 2 surgeries on his knees after the Chavez fight and was never the same after. Even though his knees were still in tact, Sergios knees were not in fighting shape and to withstand a 12 round workload against a bull like Cotto was almost impossible. Anything said after the fight is BS cause theyre trying to protect the pride of champion and not put any emphasis on a lingering topic that was already the whole issue leading up to the fight. The commentators said he knee was shot and his trainer said his knee was done in between rounds when they stopped the fight. It was clearly evident he wasn't the same ole Martinez from his champion days. IMO, a 2010 Martinez woulda owned Cotto.

That proves Cotto punches harder than Martinez? SMH It's embarrassing that you think your claim was proven. I'm glad you're not sitting in judgement over people in some courtroom somewhere.

I don't care how hard you punch, you can't break what you're not hitting. Miguel landed big shots in the first. Sergio never recovered and took still more punishment. I don't punch nearly as hard as those guys, but I'll guarantee you, if allowed, I'll smash anyone's nose and send them to the hospital with a concussion.

I have never seen so much butthurt in the boxing scene after a fight and it has nothing to do with Sergio. It was just the crazy amount of people that gave Cotto no shot and are shocked at how wrong they were and how ****** their comments now seem.

The reason all these idiots bring up excuse after excuse is to justify how wrong they all were. They made all kinds of predictions and absurd statements that made them look like fools after the fight. They are just trying to save face after being so horribly wrong and the excuses are not for Sergio the excuses are for themselves.

To all the butthurt be like Martinez and just accept he got beat by a better man. And in your case just accept that you were wrong and move on.

Fighters fight with Injuries all of the time. You don't go Into a fight with an Injury, end up losing and then cry In the post fight Interview that the reason you lost was because you were Injured. Martinez Is an honorable man and didn't make any excuses, to bad some on this board didn't follow his lead.

He was hit with a beautiful left hook In the first round that he Himself confessed to not being able to recover from.

It was clearly evident he wasn't the same Martinez from his champion days because he Isn't. He Is 39 years old, past his prime, has no defense and keeps his gloves on his hips and he more than likely underestimated Cotto's power, add Into the equation that Cotto was the stronger man(which truthfully IMO was the most baffling part).

All of these things were factors In Martinez losing, yet, there are a few on here that are trying to convince us that Martinez lost because Cotto hit him In the head and blew out his knee.

His knee played no role In him being clipped and dazed and unable to recover In the first round, only after moving and trying to avoid Cotto's power for the final 8 rounds did his knee become an Issue.

Fighters sometimes have to cancel or delay fights because they get injured in training camp, its happened several times. Realistically speaking Sergio shouldnt of taken the fight if he knew he was injured, we dont know his situation, he might of needed the money or he needed some kind of recognition if fighting a name brand fighter, who knows. As a professional boxer, you need your legs under you which he didnt have, he was tripping over his own feet, he couldnt even fight Cotto off him and he hes fought bigger legitimate middleweights.

You know the one thing I truely hate about boxing? Is hating mad fans! Assuming this assuming that conspiracy sht! Sounds like they don't have trust their favorite fighters, when their fighter says he's ok to fight, injuries are healed, I'm back you'll see! Then that fighter losses, says his main problem was from punches and recovering! Credits the winning opponent, but the fans can't let it go! Period! Y'all should be ashamed as fans! And thankful that it was Cotto instead of GGG.

Why do you come on a forum making ...ish up? MRI is just to check bone structure? That's an X-Ray. You come in here making excuses and and lies and explains what the man really meant because I feel..... blah blah blah click the link.
