And yet you still predicted a T/KO in favor of Sergio Martinez! Doesn't make much sense to me.

It makes perfect sense. I didn't know his knees were going to be that bad. It's an intangible that no one could have known until seeing him in the ring. I didn't expect a 100% Sergio but I didn't expect him to be probably less than 20% which he was last night.

Sergio from 2010 wrecks Cotto.

dude, defense has nothing to do with how your face looks. it's not a looks contest...it's about how your balance is the way in which you keep your hands up and defend yourself.


martinez has worse defense then cotto..........a lot of people are overrating martinez defense just because they see him move around.

I never said Martinez's defence was outstanding. I just said Cotto's was poor and if Sergio had actually been physically able to throw combos, he'd have started to bust Cotto's face up.

I've always thought Cotto is a very nice boxer but a little overrated by his fans as proven by this post.

Hard to really say if he's P4P Top 10. He is more skilled than a few guys on the consensus P4P lists but I don't rate his last two wins so I find it hard to place him.

Cotto doesnt need an excuse if he had lost cause he was stepping up to 160 after looking like **** at 154 except for the Rodriguez fight.

But everybody knew that the one shot Cotto had was if Martinez was shot.

Now Cotto fanboys are acting like that scenario never existed and Cotto Kod the same Martinez that was putting beatings on Chavez Jr and Pavlik.

How about the fact that Cotto is 18374629 times the boxer that Jr is? Have you seen that fight recently? Jr. just walked Sergio down with no defense at all. It was cake work for Sergio. Jr. got a gift against Vera, BRANDON VERA.

I don't doubt that Sergio was a better fighter back when he beat Pavlik and Williams, but stylistically they bring completely different things to the table that Cotto does.

I don't know why it is so hard for people to see that Cotto caught Sergio with a perfect hook behind the ear that would have landed and hurt any version of Martinez. That's what made his legs go. If the fight were to have ended in the first then maybe I'd be more on the side that it was Sergio's legs being shot.

Then 3-5 Sergio moved around the ring just fine. Cotto just cut off the ring, like he has always done.

Watch the Pavlik fight. Martinez fell down several times in that fight, and was even knocked down because of balance issues. It was his knees though...
