He was being classy and refusing to make excuses. You have a pair of eyes, did you not see him hobbling to his corner after every round? Did you not see him nearly fall on his face throwing a punch? Can you honestly say he looked anything close to healthy?

according to martinez......tthat was due to still being hurt in the first round. (his own words)

Exactly. Sergio is not some crying little bich that is going to go around making excuses. He gave his best and it wasnt enough. Simple as that. As for why it wasnt enough we boxing fans can say its clear that he shouldnt have fought in that condition. To be honest even against Murray and against Jr. to some extent you could see him falling appart. Its not the same guy that would go to war against a huge Paul Williams and still give him hell.

          Bro you've been overreacting completely.

I was there and watched the fight twice on tv now. Martinez was not hobbling to his corner that's simply inaccurate.

I literally just watched the part you were referencing where he nearly falls over throwing hte punch...he stepped on Cotto's foot.

He was far from 100%, but this is getting a little out of hand. Cotto hurt him BAD in the 1st round when Sergio looked fine...90 seconds into the fight Sergio was down, how can one tell how good Martinez was before he lost his legs to the punch?

Martinez' knees were bad in the FIRST round and that led to Cotto landing left hooks throughout the fight that Sergio had no answer for. Boxingscene fans are the best.

Serg had no answer for the left hook all night,, and he walked right into one early and totally scrambled his senses and balance....

              The knee looked fine...

I almost had to mute HBO since roy jones kept hollering about the knee, and saying his knee gone, yet serg went 10 hard rounds and was getting caught nonstop by the left hook...

Cotto won the fight based on the left hook, not the damn knees

he admitted that his hand was hurt against Murray? (he had no problem in admitting that because it was the truth) NO. it's speculation on your part. if sergios tells you that "look. i got caught early in the fight and i never could recover" you're calling him a liar? martinez told you exactly what happened in that fight. he was hurt...........

Roy was hatin. it bothered him to see Cotto lookin fly in the ring because, instead of appreciating it, the envy kicked in. Roy did everything he could to keep Cotto from shining beyond his ass.

He was very obviously hobbling. He was moving like crap all night. He had nothing on his punches because he couldn't put his legs into them.
