Should Froch be no. 1 if he beats Groves?

'Unimpressive' is a matter of opinion, let's deal with facts... At one point, the 168lb landscape had Bute/Kessler/Froch/Ward at the top. You have other champions like Abraham/Bika etc. The only significant fighter at 168lb that Ward hasn't fought and beaten is Bute. Who ran North after a hiding from Froch.

Ward is similar to W.Klitschko in the sense that he sits atop his throne uncontested. He doesn't lose his seat because the inferior fighters are beating other inferior fighters in fights that are deemed 'classics' or 'highly enthralling'.

Ward will remain #1 until he's beaten or retires. Weight-drained Dawson doesn't mean nothing, it was a money move. Rodriguez is a good fighter, if you can name 10 people better that Ward hasn't fought - go ahead.

So what about fighting the people he's already beaten? He could have fought Froch again, God knows he's earned a rematch - he could have gone for Stieglitz, Oosthuizen, one of the dirrell brothers, hell even James DeGale would be a better option, Kessler etc.

That comparison just stinks to high heaven - Wlad fights three times a year and although I don't particularly like him, he fights his mandatories and has JUST fought the #1 contender and is looking to fight the new #1 contender or the only other champions in the division.

Ward doesn't even fight! His team/promoter rejected a Kessler fight in Denmark as well.

I thought Ward retired after Super Six?! Didn't expect to see people include his two exhibition bouts since the tournament as proof that he's still an active fighter.

Ward should not be in the SMW rankings and certainly not considered as a P4P until he comes out of retirement.
