Should Froch be no. 1 if he beats Groves?

Stop saying there are people better than Rodriguez and avoid listing 'em. Come on, if you're going to make an assertion at least back it up. Don't bother replying if you can't come up with 10 people better than Rodriguez. Fucking DeGale...So what about fighting the people he's already beaten? He could have fought Froch again, God knows he's earned a rematch - he could have gone for Stieglitz, Oosthuizen, one of the dirrell brothers, hell even James DeGale would be a better option, Kessler etc.
If you think Rodriquez was the best option for Ward, then I feel sorry for you.
That comparison just stinks to high heaven - Wlad fights three times a year and although I don't particularly like him, he fights his mandatories and has JUST fought the #1 contender and is looking to fight the new #1 contender or the only other champions in the division.
Ward doesn't even fight! His team/promoter rejected a Kessler fight in Denmark as well.
So he gets fantasy points for a "money move"? There are at least ten people in the division that are better than Rodriguez, but obviously not all of them 1) made sense or 2) were available.
I honestly can't see that a guy who fights every 18 months against sub par opposition can keep the 'champ' status when there's someone else who's beating the actual contenders.

@Nelson: What I'm saying is, there are no 'great' wins available for Ward to earn. Unless you want him to go over old ground. Again, can you name 10 people better than Rodriguez?
Here's the funny thing and I have enough foresight to see it. If Ward had given Kessler and Froch a trilogy, you'd be bitching about him avoiding someone else. He outclassed Froch, beat Kessler up - he's clearly the best 168lber.Comment

Ward has been out for a while and holds no belts. Arthur Abraham is a European champion and Bika shouldn't even be ranked above Thomas Oostheizen.
Froch will come out Unified champion and #1 SMW in the WORLD.Comment

He still has the WBA Super champion belt and obviously ring.Comment

I just listed about 6-7 names. Why does it have to 10?Stop saying there are people better than Rodriguez and avoid listing 'em. Come on, if you're going to make an assertion at least back it up. Don't bother replying if you can't come up with 10 people better than Rodriguez. Fucking DeGale...

What kind of criteria is that? haha.Comment

I thought Ward retired after Super Six?! Didn't expect to see people include his two exhibition bouts since the tournament as proof that he's still an active fighter.
Ward should not be in the SMW rankings and certainly not considered as a P4P until he comes out of retirement.Comment

Oh yeah the Super title. Can't forget.
The Ring title does make Ward still the #1, but Ward won't be fighting in the next four months or so and that really should be it. Of course given Froch comes out victorious.Comment

You've only proven my point, the names you have listed that haven't already tasted defeat at the hands of Ward are all on the same level. They're all as good as Rodriguez, in some cases, they're even shitter. You expect anyone to take you seriously now you named DeGale as a legit opponent for Ward?
Find something else to be pedantic about rather than the actual point of this debate.
