The combination works well. Oscar is the face, and Schaefer is the brains. Oscar shouldn't let his emotions cloud his judgement when it comes to Schaefer being unwilling to work with Arum. You don't fire a guy who has successfully helped your company reached the elite status in the sport as far as successful promotions goes just for the sake of burying the hatchet with a rival promotions. There is no guarantee that the new business relationship would last.

Even though it's unlikely that DLH fires Schaefer, I can see something like Haymon hiring Schaefer to do what he's been doing with GBP but for Haymon fighters. It seems like everybody, including Hopkins and Mayweather, thank Scaher and never Oscar in their post fight interview. It was obvious in the Hopkins-Shumenov post fight interview, Hopkins not mentioning Oscar on his "thank yous", it appears that if there was ever a break up, fighters would side with Schaefer. I am sure there's a reason for that, it's probably because Schaefer is the one who has built relationships with the fighters. Oscar is basically the name of the company and that's it.

And as fans we should absolutely care about the cold war. But anyone ****** enough to think Oscar is smart enough to end it should just do themselves a favor and prepare for disappointment. We are talking about a man who can't stay sober and u put faith in him? Lol

I'm trying to work out how the Cold War will end with De La Hoya firing Schaefer?! All it will do is add fuel to the fire.

Oscar has elected Richard as the CEO. Richard runs the company but does not own the company, Oscar does not run the company but owns the company.
If Oscar wants to change things he has to first actually fire Schaeffer, which he can do.
good example, mens wearhouse

Oscar... comes in as a former boxer AND boxing fan... plus he has some business savvy. Oscar loves boxing and wants what's best for boxing.
Shaefer is just a little corporate prick with a huge ego and is only thinking about $$$.
Oscar should fire this guy if Shaefer doesn't bring an open mind to the table. AT the moment, Shaefer doesn't even want to consider remedies to bring an end to the Cold war. Shaefer needs to GTFO.

The problem is Oscar is such an emotional guy, he always acts on emotion. I remember writers asking Schaffer if he planned on asking Oscar to turn off his twitter account, because Oscar was always tweeting the ******est most embarrassing tweets when he would get all emotional about a fight. It used to embarrass Richard Schaffer.
