Hopefully Oscar does what's needed to be done and removes Schaefer from the equation; he has a CLEAR unwillingness to cooperate and is quite honestly acting like an emotional little b!tch, focusing on feelings and previous actions as opposed to what is best for the sport.

The people who side with Schaefer are sadly either diehard Mayweather fans or people who hate Bob Arum/Top Rank religiously, that's evident from this thread.

The real reason that the "Cold War" is gonna end (it probably won't) is that the promoters are not making $$$. It's the fan voting against the ****ty fights and promoters overpaying fighters (hence losing or making very little $$) that is causing the war to end. Since a large portion of GBP is already with schaefer/haymon, the cold war will continue.

Question to ask is,

if Schaefer/Showtime/Haymon are so wonderful and have been amassing profits from the Mayweather fights, where's the beef? How come many of their fighters are on a long layoff? Khan, Guerrero, Berto, Matthysse, etc., guys with fan-friendly styles, are now fighting once a year. Do you think TR will let these guys rot without fighting? Where is Peterson, Lopez, Charlo, etc.? Why are their stars not fighting each other?

TR's Alvarado, Marquez, Pacquiao, Provo, Rios, win or lose they fight each other. GBP stars have to have tune ups before fighting another star again. Look at them. Broner vs nobody. Matthysse vs nobody. Garcia's last fight was with someone.... See the huge difference?

Ending the cold war means nothing to GBP. Their stars don't even fight each other, let alone against TR fighters.

Haymon is good at signing the fighters but makes lousy fights. He may be overpaying the fighters and may run into problem when promotional costs start incurring. Think of it this way, GBP is been putting that expense so far in lieu of profitability. Just my opinion.

There are two competing TV networks... -- today if don't have a TV medium you don't have shit.

The TV networks don't need either too much fragmentation or too much harmony in the promotion sector... But it's one thing these two networks fight for: as many fighters they could grab for themselves...
