TR is not in financial trouble. Go figure.

GBP needs all the help it can get.

If Oscar fires him, then who will Oscar hire afterwards? He'll have to find someone else that he can trust to put in charge and that won't be an easy task. Like him or not, Schaefer is Arum 2.0, he's a ruthless businessman who has done a great job at running the company, and i don't think it would be good for business if Oscar were to hire a pushover as the new CEO of his company.

Oscar is doing the right thing by being the peacemaker and can choose to work with Arum if he wants to, but he should let Schaefer in charge of the company. He's going to have to find a way to work with Arum without Schaefer being involved, but that's almost impossible to do since Schaefer is the one who do all the promotional work and is the brains behind the operation.

Seems like Oscar is holding Schaefer hostage, because he knows that he'll start his own promotion with all the guys Haymon has snatched up.

I think Oscar knows the company won't survive just with Canelo and a few Mexican fighters that haven't gone with Haymon

The divide among fans of boxing has gotten so ridiculously huge that there are people actually defending--even liking--Schaefer and Arum.

I know a few things about this, of course they are just my opinion, and I could be wrong.

-Arum is an A$$, but he has always been one. Nothing changed. You could however always do business with him.

-GBP have also always been asses, but went from able to do deals into wanting to turn the sport into the UFC boxing version.

-Arum got tired (as well as HBO) of watching GBP trying to force their hand and corner everything via aggression. Arum started doing the same thing.

It is hard to find anything to like about Arum, but Richard and Company have taken this to new levels. It is not just GBP/Arum/HBO/Showtime. Richard has threatened other promoters saying he will drive them out of business. It is easy to see the writing on the wall.

How many of GBP are signed with Al Haymon?

I have a feeling Schafer is talking like this because he has some leverage here.

You're on to something here though...

Richard would pretty much continue with Al Haymon and it would be smart for DLH and Arum to unite forces as well.

This is a VERY plausible scenario.

Oscar can't fire shaefer because schafer would take all every haymon fighter and start h own thing, not to mention shaefer is the guy who gets all the investors.
