Best resume at welterweight since the fab 4 era?

Sweat Pea and Oscar by a mile. Now if you're talking to Leonard the fight fan, I'm going to be honest. Floyd at 147 has a solid resume filled with titlist coming off their best wins, but nothing like what Oscar and Pernell did at the weight. That's why we here at Mayweather Promotions are all about bringing home the biggest checks, not the best resume.Comment

Explain please.Shane Mosley is up there, especially if you scored some fights for him.
De La Hoya, Cotto(If you gave Mosley the fight), Margarito, Collazo, Mayorga, S. Taylor, A. Diaz.
Mayweather has a good WW resume but his best career wins are more spread out through 5 weight classes, rather than focused in one weight class: 130: Hernandez, Corrales, Chavez, 135: Castillo, Sosa, 140: Gatti, Corley, 147: Marquez, Mosley, Hatton, Guerrero, Judah, Baldomir, Ortiz and 154: De La Hoya, Canelo, Cotto.
I picked Mayweather, because too many dumb asses picked Pacquiao, but I actually think it's Whitaker easily.Comment

He fought Chavez though.
I agree King kept those guys away from Whitaker until he got old and on drugs.Comment

It was a bad night for boxing all around. Everyone thought Oscar won that night, but then most were glad he didn't because of those last 3 rounds.
The fight was fixed. Don King.Comment

im sure you still didnt vote because as long as it isnt Mayweather, you are satisfied. As I stated above, I have not voted as I haven't thought it out completely through.
Just going by who they fought, guys like Oscar and Mosley should be ahead of everyone but as you stated, they also lost some of those. Still, there is a huge huge difference between losing a close fight to Tito or Mosley than beating someone like Baldomir and Guerrero. Not even close!
As far as Floyd is concerned, you said it yourself, Floyd's only notable win was against a shot fighter named Mosley. The way you stated Mosley (shot fighter), when you add that Mosley was inactive for 16 months, had to put that OLD body thru 2 training camps in a row, you need to throw that one out of the window.
So then, who is left for Floyd? Judah? The Judah that lost to Baldomir, Clottey, Cotto, Spinks and Floyd at WW? The Judah that realized he is not doing good at 147 so he stepped back down to his best weight? That Judah? Who thinks that Baldomir is great on a resume? Not me, not anyone!!!
Besides those 3, Floyd fought 5 opponents that had a total of 5 fights at WW. That means a lot when you are tabulating the who of who of resumes for a given division. Furthermore, who did they beat? Keep scratching your head because you will NOT be coming up with any notable fighters just a bit of hype.
.
He has a case like the rest, thats why I named them.
Everyone on this list has wins over fighter who started at lower weights, ODLH, Mayweather, Whitaker, Pacquaio, and Mosley plus all were established fighters at lower weights themselves.
At least I can explain my opinion. You dont even have one because you didnt vote. So whats your point?
A loss is a loss...whether its close or by a mile
Trinidad did beat ODLH BUT it was a robbery IMO, best wins over washed up Camacho and Whitaker, then Campas and Blocker
Mosley best wins at 147 are DLH, Margarito, Collazo and losses to Forrest Twice, Cotto, Mayweather and Manny
ODLH best wins Whitaker, Quartey, and losses to Tito(Robbery), Pacquaio when he was past prime and Mosley
Pacquaio best wins are ODLH( hadnt fought here in years and looked horrible before, during and after the fight)...Mosley who hadnt won a fight in like 3 years, Clottey who is decent and Cotto after the Margo battering, an unranked Marquez in a fight most people think he lost, kayoed by the same unranked Marquez, a controversial loss to Bradley
Top resumes are Mayweather, DLH, Trinidad, and WhitakerComment

Reasons: I explained myself clearly. Same formula that can only fish in someone like you, I guess.
"A loss is a loss": This is why Floyd fans like you will never get it. Floyd's resume is suspect. A win against opponents that had suspect resume at WW compared to 2 fighters who are good enough to make your list and lose a close fight to each other is in no way shape or form the same thing.
Manny: The way you criticized Manny, you should do the same with Floyd which is so easy to do.
Example:
1) Oscar against Manny. You said "Oscar hadn't fought at 147 for years". I agree BUT when I counter you with "Floyd fought 5 fighters that had a total of 5 fights at WW". You say "but they were good at other divisions." WHAT???
2) Mosley against Manny. You said "Mosley who hadn't won a fight in like 3 years". You exaggerate a tad but Floyd fight was only 12 months earlier but you didn't say that even though everyone knows that Mosley was also INACTIVE for 16 months when OLD Mosley fought Floyd.
3) Marquez against Manny. You said "Marquez was not ranked at WW". I agree BUT you said this about Marquez that fought Floyd "guys who won at multiple weights or other weights" WHAT???
What a joke! At least Manny fought a Marquez (3) that had fought Floyd already and Manny, the WW champ, came down to 143lbs.
You still don't get my point?Comment

You still don't get my point?
Do I get you point? Honestly...no
What I said was every fighter in the poll has defeated fighters that started at lower weight classes....and most of the fighters in the poll didnt start at welterweight. That was my point
If you disagree with Floyd...Who would you select instead?
regardless of how many times they fought their, they earned their rankings at the weight.
On the 5 fighter with low welterweight fights...Everyone he fought at 147 were former or current belt holders or champions....Mitchell and marquez were not ranked.
Hatton was undefeated gave up the wba title at 147 but also started 10 pounds heavier as a pro and was the lineal champion at 140
mosley fought at 147 since around 2000, Ortiz outweighed him by 15 pounds and earned his ranking at 147, Judah didnt have very many fights at the weight when he fought Mayweather, but he did fight for the title 3 times by the time he fought them and started his career 10 pounds heavier than and earned his place at the top of the division.Comment
Just tells you how dumb they were at doing their job.
