You misunderstood me, I said nothing compared to some of the guys on the list. Not that he accomplished nothing.

Vernon Forrest conquered the WW division? When? For just beating Mosley? lol ok

Curry is probably the lowest ranked career-wise on the list but arguably the best welterweight of them

great analogy...he is the only one to be ithe undisputed welterweight champion and also beat all the top guys controversy free

People are penalizing him for a short prime. He accomplished a lot in the shortest time. He and Trinidad are the only true welters....ODLH, Pacquaio, Whitaker, Mayweather all started at 135 and lower.

Well he was a long reigning paper champ and then got his shot at was considered was the best welter and beat him decisively both times,,, at the time oscar and tito had moved up,, ike was counting his millions in ghana, and there wasnt really much in the division, so yes Forrest had conquered it but very briefly,,,

Sorry if i misunderstood you,, i got what your saying now,,,

I do think the similarities between forrest and curry are accurate,, as soon as they got to the mountain top they got upset by a virtual unknown

Out of both of them the best win at 147 is Floyd's win over Mosley and that was only because Mosley was the man to beat at that time and YES Manny did duck Mosley after he defeated Margarito. But Floyd fought him and beat him while Mosley was hot. Lets not forget that ALOT of people were saying Mosley was going to KO Mayweather, even Roach and Arum. That is the only semi "great" win at 147 between the two of them. Other then that they both have decent wins over said opponents. Floyd has beaten higher ranked guys coming off a big wins at 147 while Manny has beaten big names that were coming off of major losses. So it KIND OF evens out. Floyd has a better resume but its not by a huge margin. Both their resumes are decent at 147.
Because the guy that I'm arguing with actually picked Floyd and simultaneously dumped on Manny. When you argue on the same opponent in a different way, well, someone needs to call him out on it.

BTW, you are wrong on the Mosley argument. Floyd ducked Mosley from 2007-2010 until Berto vs Mosley didn't happen. At the time of their interviews(people you mentioned and others), many of those people didn't think that Floyd would be fighting a Mosley that was getting ready to turn 39, rusty as nails as he was inactive for 16 months and put his OLD body thru 2 straight training camps. So taking all that into account, it was only better because Floyd fought Mosley first but all the other factors kinda equals it out.

Manny had a TR fighter (Cotto) who actually beat Mosley ready to fight him and that would bring in more money. It was an awesome pick for his first fight against a true WW. Especially if you are a Floyd fan, you would not be arguing this point!!!

The thing that Floyd and Manny have going for them that the others do not is that they are still active fighters. So in a year or two, things can change. Of course, if Floyd continues to cherry pick then it will change nothing but that is Floyd's call, nobody else's as there are some good names out there that can enhance his legacy.

Surely the Magic Man is nothing compared to the fighters like the young Mosley that Floyd & Pac faced, the WW Marquez, Victor the Tree, The Ghost, Chino, etc..

The fact that Floyd and Pacquiao, Floyd Especially, are leading this poll says it all.

Forrest did not conquer anything. His claim to fame before Mosley were two farce of fights with that Raul dude.
