Tell your son to stop telegraphing his right hand punches. Did you guys notice how many freaking time Danny wanted to throw the right but couldn't as Herrera simply KNEW It was coming and moved outta the way?

Herrera is a tricky fighter. Hard to deal with.
It was funny when Garcia threw a left hand that hit Herrera almost on the knee and the Showtime guy called it a body shot. I guess the knee is part of the body, but come on.

              • I was a big Danny Garcia fan and had him pegged to beat Khan and Matthysse when the odds were stacked against him and I had him pegged to beat Herrera as well. His performance was poor and really showed that if Danny gets in with a boxer who has a good, accurate jab, quirky movement and unpredictability he has trouble making the proper adjustments. He certainly didn't damage Herrera and in fact was more beat up himself by the end of the bout. In the post fight interview, Danny repeatedly mentioned the adjustments he made throughout the fight but I failed to see that he actually did that, at least successfully. I have to admit I was a bit bias going into the fight because I am a fan of Garcia but anyone who thinks he legitimately won that fight is fooling themselves. He did not do enough to win legitimately. It was definitely a fix. Both PR judges had him up 8-4 didn't they? That is really a bull**** score card given the amount of trouble Herrera gave Danny. I agree that Herrera used some dirty tactics such as rushing in with his head down all the time and throwing a lot of rabbit punches and cheap shots but the ref didn't condone any of this and Danny couldn't deal with his tactics successfully at all. This is why Angel was screaming at him about dealing with the clinches. It was to no avail however since Herrera continued to frustrate Danny all night with his butting and clinching on the inside and jab and movement on the outside. It seems he had the perfect formula for beating Danny. Many rounds were close but very few were clear wins for Garcia. Herrera, on the other hand had at least 5 or 6 rounds that were clearly his. Danny's lack of output in the last round was either due to a culmination of his frustration with Herrera's style, a lack of energy or the knowledge that he only had to finish the fight to win. Along with the other robberies that have occurred in the past couple of years in boxing, this one just adds to pro boxing's reputation for illegitimacy.

                • I thought Herrera won a decisive and clear victory. He constantly beat Danny to the punch all night long. Moreover, he was the busier and more accurate puncher of the two; Especially with the jabs.

In addition, he hurt Garcia multiple times in the fight in rounds 9 and 12. Herrera showed great ring generalship with his upper body defense. Danny's punches were wide, slow and often missing their intended target.

Also, Mauricio was constantly backing Garcia up because Danny was frustrated as he couldn't time or neutralize Herrera's jab,

Nah.. far from a robbery. Debatable...yes. I've never seen a champion lose bc he was being out-jabbed. Hererra did good work & made it an ugly, dirty & uncomfortable fight for Danny. Had he totally picked him apart I'd agree. But he didn't...he put on an ugly Carlos molina type fight. Danny got away w/ one....that's all to it. & actually this helps him. Bc Hererra's style was complicated & not just some walk over. Keeps him on his toes & reveals weaknesses. Danny has to develop an inside fight game. & learn to become a bully wen a guy is tryna rough him up. But this doesn't hurt boxing...not this decision. He'll move on & live to see another day.

I like Danny, but from here on out it's going to be tough sledding. He showed some vulnerabilities in there with Herrera that will cost him against a number of fighters.
