Most people know this is a totally undeserved joke of a match up and will properly be a total embarrassment for all involved but it is what it is. The Maidana match up was only slightly better but certainly more deserving.
Let's just sit back and try to enjoy the torment of listening to the inevitable lies, deluded opinions and having Mayweather comparing Khan to one of these 'unbeaten young studs' that he was claiming would be his next opponent. I like many won't buy this but what snippets I want from this I am sure will be thoroughly entertaining if some what bemusing ..... lets move on and look forward to discussing real fights and move away from having to listen to the circus nonsense of 'polls' etc, etc to try and justify what is at this stage the most ridiculous match up in years.

He fought Canelo because the time was right for the PPV. Despite your "expertise" Golden Boy and Showtime have guys who get paid to determine what fight they feel would sell the best. It's obvious that at that time Canelo (who came off a huge win against Trout) was the right guy. And it showed when the fight sold 2 million PPV's.

And yes it is a big difference when HBO's biggest PPV attraction sells half of what Showtime is doing.
Showtime, a network that doesn't have the budget or audience that HBO has.

I would think that HBO could take a hit In PPV numbers easier than Showtime could being that they do have less of a budget to work with. Anyway, Pacquiaos PPV sells were always pretty much even with Mayweathers until recently.



Do you think HBO bases It's Income on It's biggest PPV attraction selling fewer PPV's In his first fight back after a year long layoff In a fight that happened In China? It was one fight. If It becomes a pattern then HBO needs to pull the plug and I'm sure they will.
