Showtime's regular boxing is very rare. If you're a subscriber you will notice this. Do you see Bernstein, Kenny, etc, often? Where is Matthysse, Guerrero, etc? Where is their so-called deep division? Why are these fighters on a long layoff? Because they focus too much on PPVs, particularly Mayweather's expensive fights. They have little left for subscribers.

Many of their fighters are just coming back from big fights they had from September through December. Matthysse is coming back soon, Guerrero in case you haven't heard is having contract disputes. We should have Broner back along with Maidana, Thurman, and many others soon. Expect fights to pop up in April or late march. After all these fighters aren't on PPV so you don't have to announce the fights with many months in anticipation.

Again for all you say, Showtime has had it's overall viewership gone up. In some cases outcompeting HBO. HBO, a company that not only has more subscribers, but has been a staple of boxing for many years. For Showtime to not only compete but to outperform HBO in some cases shows that Showtime did the right thing.

PPVs are not for subscribers. Perhaps when he retires
SHO would focus more on future stars and see them often.
Right now they're spending gargantuan amounts of money
on Mayweather fights, leaving very little for other fighters.
Floyd's guarantee alone will present all kind of problems
on any network. I don't wonder why HBO dropped him.

Thats a quote from HBO Boxing President in 2007. He wasn't President when floyd signed with SHo over HBO. How does it apply to SHowtime in 2013?

Hey businessman! Pac doesnt have an exclusive HBO contract like Floyd does with Showtime where they have to make a ****load of profit to pay for his contratc and expenses. Why u think showtime panicked after the guerrero fight n that ppv number was never released as well

You are about as dumb as Pacquaio. Showtime doesn't guarantee Mayweather's purses. His purses are guaranteed by GBP based on PPV revenue, ticket sales, site fees and sponsorships. Showtime has a contract with Mayweather (it damn sure isn't $300 million for six fights as the bloggers claim) that pays him a specific amount per fight. They make more than enough on PPV sales to cover the contract costs. No one lost any money on the Guerrerro PPV. Mayweather simlply took home $50 million from that fight instead of the $100 million he made against Alvarez.

Uh no, not a big difference. HBO Isn't paying Pacquiao 50-60 million dollars per fight as Showtime Is Mayweather. It's no coincidence that Mayweather fought Canelo In his next fight . Don't you think It might have had something to do with the failed Guerrero PPV?

Around $30M revenue in ppv + Macau Live Gate less pac $18M & $4M rios + around $2M for the undercard.

Bottomline : Top rank did not lose money
