Mayweather is supposed to enrich SHO with truckloads of money. That has not been the case. I'm a subscriber and I barely see Bernstein, Kenny, et al. Regular boxing is so infrequent. Subscribers didn't benefit at all from this Mayweather connection. He just messed things up. Showtime and GBP are focused on PPVs, which have nothing to do with Showtime. PPVs can be carried by any network. Can't wait to see this guy retire.
Why would CBS President Moonves allow Espinoza to lose money like this when he can easily tell him to drop floyd?
Lemme guess, floyd controls CBS like he does USADA.

Showtime is happy, and many subscribers are happy.

Let's set things straight. Showtime's objective is to woo subscribers, not PPV buyers. They have nothing in February. March is PPV, May is PPV. I'm guessing even the Maidana vs Broner's April fight might even land in the May undercards to support Money Mayweather's Cinco de Mayo fight.
SHo and CBS are doing very well since the floyd deal. I know this bothers you. SO you make up things to make yourself feel better.

PPVs are not for subscribers. Perhaps when he retires
SHO would focus more on future stars and see them often.
Right now they're spending gargantuan amounts of money
on Mayweather fights, leaving very little for other fighters.
Floyd's guarantee alone will present all kind of problems
on any network. I don't wonder why HBO dropped him.

"I can't tell you that pay-per-view helps the sport because it doesn't. It hurts the sport because it narrows our audience, but it's a fact of life. Every time we try to make an HBO World Championship Boxing fight, we're up against mythical pay-per-view numbers. HBO doesn't make a lot of money from pay-per-view. There's usually a cap on what we can make. But the promoters and fighters insist on pay-per-view because that's where their greatest profits lie." -- Ross Greenburg 2007

Roach took one too many kicks to the torso during that trip to China. Floyd's numbers are going to suffer because the only people worth fighting are either with Top Rank or they aren't big enough names for casual fans to be interested in. Khan has a big fan base and Maidana inherited all of Matthysse's bandwagon fans. I for one, am only interested in seeing him fight either Erislandy Lara or Tim Bradley.
