You're comparing the mindset in sparring to the mindset in a championship fight? I'll bet you hear the cheer of the crowd in your head as you and your BFF work on your drills.

No DQ. At worst a NC with mandatory rematch.

He didn't hear the bell. It happens all the time.

Remember Guerrero vs Berto? They practically broke the bell ringing that ****. Didn't stop the Ghost at all.

So then Rances is guilty and loses no? Are we basing it on tort law, specifically negligence? Or is the outcome of the fight what is going to trial? Is it the referee? Your post confused me a little, but I'll be the first to admit I'm not a lawyer.

Yes, yes and yes. Good post.

I welcome a rematch. Remove all doubt. Is there any, really? I'd bet the house on Barthelemy now that I've seen the match-up in action.

I'm not a lawyer either. My post wasn't meant to be taken literally. It was meant as an example. The point was that mistakes happen, it's then up to a judging body to decide the severity of the transgression and rule upon it. Sometimes there's a heavy penalty. Sometimes there's a relatively light penalty. Sometimes there's no penalty at all. We're obviously at odds as to what actually transpired, and, therefore, what the penalty should be.

Oh yeah, Mendez better hope they just deny him anything involving a rematch, so he can move onto fights he has chance at winning.

That was a brutal beatdown given to him with ease.
