Quality. Of. Opposition. Repeat that ten times until the lightbulb goes off. Ali coming back and immediately stepping in with Frazier would be the rough equivalent of Vitali coming back and immediately stepping in with Wlad. In Vitali's case he never did get in the ring with the real champion. Ali did.

Vitali is a great fighter, I think when analyzing the Klitschkos you have got to pretend some of their fans don't exist.. hence you won't be bias in nature.

The truth of the matter is.. Vitali Klitschko gave an ATG Heavyweight Hell.. People can say that Lewis was aging and unmotivated... I agree.. but what people have to understand is that even that version of Lewis would have beaten a vast number of ATG'S in their primes.. Can we really bet on Prime Ken Norton vs 2003 Lewis? Can the likes of Marciano, Dempsey.. Johnson etc really beat 2003 Lewis? In all honestly I think even 03 Lewis beat them all at their absolute peak. Vitali took Lewis to the deep end and lost fairly due to cuts.. no complains there..

Vitali's resume is a bona fide Hall of Fame resume... I don't think people really understand just how much more difficult it is for super heavys in terms of athletic grace, boxing intelligence, and ring generalship as compared to the normal sized heavys.. There is a reason throughout history there's only been 4 elite super heavys (Bowe,Lewis,K2)....

Is Vitali an ATG Talent? Yes.
      Is Vitali's resume poor? No
      Is Vitali's resume ATG? No
Could Prime Vitali beat Prime Ali or Lewis? I highly doubt it.. but he would beat a good amount of the top 25 All Time Heavys..

& he lost once he went to retrieve his old belt... on points & got knocked down.. something Vitali has yet to endure in a 17 yr career. Vitali has gotten in the ring with Wlad on several occasions & there's footage of it on youtube.

And he hasn't gotten in the ring with any fighter even remotely close to being as good as Frazier.....let alone fighting the real Heavyweight champion.

Well now lets see, I happen to have Vitali's list of fights right here......Nope! No Wlad Klitschko there.

          Try again Junior.

Vits resume is about a 4 out of 10. Slightly below average, but down right awful if you're arguing he's an ATG. All you have to do is see what his opponents accomplished before and after fighting him...and the answer to that is not much.

What does a fake title mean? We all know lad was and is the champ. Ali took on a much more talented Quarry and than he went after the one ad only rue champion. Vits has fought the true champion once in his career and was stopped in 6. This is an un-debatable fact.

you do realize there was essentially 1 belt in the ali era and there are 4 now right? quarry didn't fight in the 4 belt era but he was a much better fighter than peter. it was a tougher fight against a better opponent. ali fought quarry as a tuneup for frazier who was the legit champ. vitali fought peter as a tuneup for.....gomez? arreola? kevin johnson? he still hasn't fought the legit champ. what a comeback! he came back for the bums!

He also fought a Bonavena who was better than Peter and than lost the greatest fight of all time. Vit returned for Peter, Gomez and Arreola.

Yeah. Ali. One can make a case for Vitali being something without making silly comparisons.

And let's not ignore that, before Peter won the BC, he lost an eliminator for the IBF to Wlad where the competitiveness largely came from illegal rabbit punches. His belt was of the most paper variety.

Do you realize what an accomplishment it is to com back after 4 years of inactivity and dominate the way Vitali has done? No ring rust, in the greatest shape ever. That's called ACCOMPLISHMENT.
