Why are people saying Canelo is the biggest strongest Floyd has faced?

You literally took the words right out my fingers. I was just about to bring up the Vargas at 154 that DLH beat. That Vargas would beat Trout and Canelo..

In fact if you ask me, Canelo is simply a poor man's Vargas

I would actually give Lara, Andrade, Trout, and Angulo a much better shot at beating Floyd than Canelo; styles make fights. Canelo doesn't have the stamina to compete with Floyd for the full 12 rounds; not even 3 minutes of every round. He'll also be terribly drained at 152 considering he is a bit of a juggernaut for the weight. I do give him a puncher's chance though.

Maybe the biggest but we all know Mayweather took this fight because it looked winnable. If he wasn't the big favorite it wouldn't happen.

He was getting outboxed just before that "stoppage" too.

Oscar is a definite ATG whether the 2007 version of him was better than current Canelo can be argued, but the question here is size and strength which I'm sure favors Canelo. Alvarez weighted in at 170s when he fought Trout, has Oscar ever been that heavy?

I pretty much agree with you especially regarding Lara.

Nevermind 152 or 154 though, I think Canelo has stamina problems regardless of those 2 pounds.

As for having a puncher's chance, in my opinion Angulo has a puncher's chance, not Canelo. The kid didn't knock out anybody at 154, unless we consider Baldomir's corpse a legit 154 pounder.
Even some of his TKO wins were rather dubios in my opinion (Alfonso Gomez comes to mind).

Canelo's advantge is size, and the hope that age will affect Floyd's performance.

Canelo don't even have a huge advantage is size, he is actually shorter than May but yes, naturally weighs more and has more of a tank like physique but he will be draining himself come Friday night, so the advantage, if there ever was one, is mute.

Personally I think Floyd has fought better light middles in Cotto and DLH, Canelo ranks 3rd...on a list of 3 LOL

Why do people act like Canelo has to weigh 152 going into the ring he will be close to a super middleweight or higher come fight night and Floyd has never faced anybody that big.

You do realize that DLH was around 170+ against Mayweather, right?

                      Hell, Victor Ortiz was 166..
